Looks like a crux 35 conversion, great job my friend 😎

Yes, that is the draw for me. Transfer my crux parts over and add Walksnail, buzzer and gps.

Might be worth looking into li-ion batteries instead of lipo’s for long range

As someone who has tried a very similar setup and played with all the video systems I highly recommend walksnail! I was trying to stick to hd zero but it was huge win with walksnail! Also I found the gps works a tad bit better with walksnail, hd zero seems to kill the signal a bit more. I have a smaller 3 inch build on walksnail and the gps is right above the camera as you showed here and I am getting around 20 sats, would say yes to making a flat spot on the frame for the gps 😎. Also with walksnail I get used to knowing when the signal will drop. It warns you with the red border flashing and a bit of stuttering and bit rate drop. I use the whoop lite version of walksnail. The new versions have 500mw and I’ve been out 2.5 miles on just 200mw using the fatshark recon. That was flying a wing tho. And I hear the goggles L has even better range. I didn’t get the goggles X after seeing all the problems. I do have the dominator but somehow prefer the recon 😮

@@DanielSingerX thanks for the input. the goggles are still a thing to figure out. it seems like goggles X still need a major revision. Goggles L do seem like a possible option, though I found my sons scout goggles hard to fly with. It for more like looking at a little screen rather than immersive FPV. I’m leaning toward the dominator but never really liked my HD3s much. My favorite goggles by far are HDzero.

@@Quad66 goggles are a tough thing to recommend because it’s a different experience for everyone. I find the fatshark recon hd to be more immersive than the dominators, I believe it’s more fov than the older scout. I would recommend the goggles L but I haven’t personally used them and I hear some people say the fov is too big and they can’t see the edges while others say it’s perfect 😵‍💫 but the goggles L are a great price and if u don’t like them it would be a great second pair of goggles. Or get the vrx and use with the hd zero goggles. That would be super heavy on the face tho

No need for a flat top. Would shrink tube and zip ties work to hold it onto the 2 bars behind the cam?
No need to extend in my opinion. There’s plenty of space already.
No idea about walksnail. But all what’s longer distance quad goes dji v1. Everything that flies in the garden stays with HDZ or analog. This means 3.5” and up is all vistas.
One more nice looking and practical design! Well done :)

The external battery can be replaced with a gps mate from vifly, it would do the same thing and be lighter I believe. I dont need to preheat my gps when using m10, I just keep my dji goggles powered off when powering up the radio and drone, the gps get sats while the dji is in low power mode (stays very low output till first connection to goggles), but with other systems I can see the gps mate helping.
Careful with the heat under that Happymodel TCXO dual rx. I killed mine on the second day after moving to over the o3, it was doing just fine next to it for months before I moved it. Just make sure the big chip on the bottom (opposite the ufls) isn't trapping heat against the vtx (looks like you may have some airflow under there).
Put the gps over the camera... does it work there? Id be putting it there if it were me. Although it may be better protected on the arm. We put gps on the arm all the time when we dont have a better spot, you can tape directly over the patch antenna with electrical tape and it will still work fine too.
I'm digging following this progression 👍

@@BrandonBeans From the description of the vifly it sounds like it reverts to board power once flying. I get worried that it will drop satellites once back on the noisy 5V. Yes I have the receiver lifted up off the VTX with two stips of VHB tape that are 2 layers thick. I did that to keep air flowing on the VTX but good to know that may also ward off problems with the receiver.

On your prior video, TokyoDon said he was using a BEC straight from the battery leads to the VTX to clean up the power in the board. Maybe that’s a better and lighter option?

This looks exactly like the frame a was searching for! I currently use the 3 style plus for my 3,5" build, but I'm not that happy with it. I want to build: naked walksnail moonlight, F1404 motors, 3,5" lightweight, alrounder drone. Do you only plan on releasing a frame option for a 19x19mm cam and space for a stack of 3 boards (I think this would mean ~ 22mm)?

@@oshel_ at this point I’m finishing up this frame for 14x14 cams. For 19 x 19, I would probably need to do longer arms. to get enough clearance.
