    Hi Bhavna, can we add sugar in milk while boiling it, instead of adding sugar at last? Will it make any difference?

    @SuperVeggieDelight hmmm thank u for clearing my doubt, but here in south india diz reciepe called as sweet upituu.... here ppl add sugar in boiling milk n add after tat sugary milk to sujiiii :) realy it taste sooo goooood!! :)

    Yummy ❤️.
    You can also add safron in the end, tastes so good & brings that lovely pale yellow colour on shira.
    I put lots of safron.

    ok hi again ummm....usually they use flour in Trinidad for the Hindus and the Muslims use semolina or cream or wheat....i tried your recipe with cream of wheat is tasted grt.....my parents was very surprised ...thanks though but maybe i can post the link of what i was asking for and you can tell me if its the same in India

    Is that a non-stick pan? I like your recipes. How do I know when the "Rava" is perfectly done in the "Ghee"? Whenever I make Sheera, either the Rava is not sauteed enough or it ends up being overdone.

      Rava is done when it changes the color slightly. The pan is stone coated

    Sugar is always added once all other ingredients are cooked. Once sugar is added, it stops cooking other added ingredients.

    That is far too much sugar!! Sugar increases aging - at most one spoon is needed. Even better is to use only honey and cinnamon (that too less quantity).

    hey bhavna
    i dont think that this sheera (sweet rava), what you have made is we call it in south as sweet uppittu,
    for the actual sheera we 3:1 of water and milk, yellow color, pineapple as well as rose water etc
    cook the rava or soji in ghee and add water and let it cook, after that add milk and immediately add sugar, rose water , and dry fruits,pineapple pieces and care should take that sheera should not dry like your dry sheera
