- जाने माने पेंटर मक़बूल फ़िदा हुसैन साहब को उनके माहे-जनम में याद करते हुए हमें बेहद फ़ख्र का एहसास हो रहा है। वे दुनिया के महानतम पेंटर्स में से एक रहे हैं, लेकिन अपने अलग करने और अलग सोचने की धुन में वे कई लोगों को अपनी विचारधारा के विरुद्ध भी कर देते हैं। उनकी बनाई पेंटिग्स किसी भी दीवार की उम्र दराज़ कर दिया करती है। रचनात्मकता के शाहकार रचने वाले इस कलाकार को इस देश में कुछ लोगों से वह संवेदनशीलता और रचनात्मक समझ नहीं मिली, जिसके वे हक़दार थे, जिसके चलते उन्हें अपना देश तक छोड़ना पड़ा था। चालीस के दशक में पहली बार अपनी पेंटिंग्स के ज़रिये लोगों के दिलों में रास्ता बनाने वाले मक़बूल फ़िदा हुसैन को देवी-देवताओं की पेंटिंग्स बनाने पर अश्लीलता के आरोपों का सामना तक करना पड़ा। उनकी कृतियों को नष्ट तक किया गया, लेकिन रंगों की दुनिया के इस बेताज बादशाह को भुलाना किसी के लिए भी आसान नहीं है। एक ज़िक्र एम. एफ. हुसैन साहब का, 'द वायर' पर 'हिंदी की बिंदी' में।

@@noelsushilismile7206 Brother, it's easy for someone with a particular perception to understand some art whether it's Charlie or ajanta,you know when ,when they understand those curves .But that is also a form of art which Charlie use for travesty and at the same time if you notice ajanta paintings,they were at their times and now people see it in their times. My religious identity is the most important and most sacred to me and it is more important and more sacred than anyone else's identity. So, why should I be tolerant if someone of another absurd belief system does not show respect to my absurd belief system? My arcane, predominantly absurd and absolutely inadequate understanding of the world is more sacred than yours. That is religious intolerance. Until and unless people become more rational and less religious, the social disease of religious intolerance is here to stay. Unfortunately, India's biggest sellable commodity in the domestic and in the international market is religion. It sells better than any narcotic.

Some points you got right -
1) To destroy a civilisation, destroy it architecture, burn it's scriptures/ libraries, distort/destroy its history. I wonder who has done all this.(case in point - somnath temple and 1000's more, Nalanda University, from Afghanistan to bangladesh destruction of idols.)
2) People who don't understand art or artistic freedom will burn down paintings (or in your case behead the person). Case in point- Charlie Hebdo, Salman Rushdie and Rangila Rasul).
Sometimes it's good to introspect oneself and ones community before slinging mud on others.
