A good combo move i would do that would work most the of the time is just walking left with the ball then out of nowhere explode one step to a spin and continue that dribble only once and then cross back to the left hand and go left because when you spin people leave a good space between your legs so you should be a Able to crossover because when they recover for a spin there legs and feet will jump back because of the lateral shift they have to to do so you can mostly of the the time crossover only recommend this move in iso not by a lot of denfenders
Coach fire vid as always. But I have a question. Lets say I’m driving right ball in right hand. Should my pound dribble that leads to my spin be with my right foot down or left foot down. I see players do both ways. Is there one way that is just “better” than the other or does it not matter.
It depends on the angle of your drive. 1) If your drive is a 'open stance' drive with your body turning directly to the basket then your right foot will be on the ground on your last dribble. Quick players (Fox, Lin, Schroder, Westbrook) tend to spin more like this. 2) If your drive is more of a 'closed stance' with your body turning sideways then your left foot will be on the ground on the last dribble. Bigger slower players (Lebron, Giannis, Embiid, Siakam) tend to spin more like this. The difference isn't huge.
epiphany: it's not a spin. It's footwork. It's a split-second post-up while moving downhill. the fundamentals aren't a set of moves, the fundamentals are principles rooted in the rules of the game which spawn a near-infinitude of useful movement.
i keep messing up with the footwork and stopping mid spin against very physical defenders that bump me a lot, is this just a "not enough reps" kind of problem or should i do something different like say spinning earlier?
Spinning off 2 feet is 10x more popular for a reason. Taking that extra step for more separation. But in certain situations you might want to jump quickly off 1 instead. Lebron is much much better jumping off 1 foot, that's probably why he prefers a 1 step spin.
Since many of the viewers of this video is here to copy the spin move or studying to do spin move just remember that most of the samples in this videos are traveling violations, there are videos in youtube explaining this in short, dont land your pivot foot before releasing the ball thats a travel. jump with the other foot without landing the pivot foot.
@@CoachFrikki I mean I'm very confused since I see it happen in literally every clip you used. The first foot you use when you make the actual spin (you've picked up the ball to spin, so the foot was used as a pivot). Then you put down two feet again to make the layup, why is that legal?
Coach Frikki so underrated such a great channel, you are officially my internet coach now XD, such great content

The entire video should’ve been a Siakam spin compilation
Best youtuber
so glad i found this

TP spin..brings back memories

Why some of the spin moves were not called for traveling since the pivot was lifted then steps for the final lay
i keep messing up with the footwork and stopping mid spin against very physical defenders that bump me a lot, is this just a "not enough reps" kind of problem or should i do something different like say spinning earlier?
So damn good vid. You're now are my virtual coach. But I have a question. Which spin is better the LeBron spin off 1 feet or the spin off 2 feet?
Spinning off 2 feet is 10x more popular for a reason. Taking that extra step for more separation.

ok...I'm hooked.....no cure....don't want one!
Yeah, spin move
Unguardable
2:42 2:44 2:57 2:59 3:09 4:15
Spin or btb/wrap?
Personally I like seeing it done out of the post.
Makes me dizzy just watching!
🙏🙏🙏
How is it not a travel when you put your initial pivot back down
Putting your pivot back down is a travel. Care to point to any clips that do that?
@@CoachFrikki I mean I'm very confused since I see it happen in literally every clip you used.

If you put that 1st foot down before picking the ball up then the 2nd foot down is pivot. Not the 1st one.
@@CoachFrikki oh ok thanks so basically it's a gather step
Is that travel? Because i count 3 steps every time
In 2:43 it is not travel for example because it is 2 steps
If you are counting 3 steps then you start counting too early.
