I like that they're not trying strictly to emulate traditional archetypes too much. Shes a turret character but not a engineer. But then they have that too. This is an interesting spin on a controller assassin mix. If they dont port this to consoles, theyre dumb. Instant classic
CS, DOTA, and TF2 aren’t on consoles. Unless you count steamdeck, this won’t either

@@jettsonns That's why they made it and why I don't see it coming to consoles. It's the same a Dota, a loss leader of sorts. Back in 2013, SEA and China didn't have a big console gaming market, and outside of Korea, LoL was yet to make big inroads. Dota's free to play release and generous monetization model gradually took the place of all the pirated installs of Warcraft 3 on all the LAN Cafe's in the region. Even as Dota and MOBA's as a whole, have dipped in popularity, Steam as the go to market for PC games has remained.
Valve doesn't want your money to play this game, they want you to install Steam. Hey, they'll even sell you a Steam Deck near cost price with the store pre-installed, if that makes it easier. They'll even allow you to install competitors store fronts and uninstall their store if you don't like the experience but like the device. I'd like to see Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo allow you to install Steam, GoG, Ichio and Epic on their consoles without taking a massive cut in the profits.

You are able to have 2 abilties right away because you used the selecthero console command, I don't know why that happens but if I use the command to play as abrams I can also select 2 abilties at the start of a round, but I only did this on the play with bots mode.

One of the fun things about this game is you can use items to make anyone a support!
That said, Kelvin and Viscous both have built-in supportive abilities and also both have insane mobility, so if you want a high mobility support you could start there :) -Derk

The graphics isnt final. Its just there temporarily. They might do the real graphics in Beta. Its still in Alpha phase.

How do you know if you're high elo or not?
You get a letter in the mail calling you a very good gamer.
if your games are making it onto the "watch" front page in-game, you're high elo. you can tell if there are people spectating the game you're in from some text in (i believe) the top left
don't worry people calling themselves that in an alpha with no ranked ladder will probably barely scratch top 10% when the game isn't brand new and people catch up. Most people calling themselves high elo aren't that great and are taking advantage of the fact most people suck atm.

Shes not melee? only her 4 has something to do with melee, and even that doesnt buff the damage, just adds a silence and BULLET RESIST SHRED... Even 2 doesnt scale on melee damage, but spirit power. Love her cat theme tho.
Well, Melee damage does get checked against Bullet Resist, so lowering the enemy's Bullet Resist does increase Melee damage and therefore she will do more and more damage with Melee the more she applies the debuff. Her 4 also increases her Heavy Melee charge speed, so even if there was no debuff associated with it, she would still increase her effective DPS with Heavy Melees by just being able to do more of them. Additionally, while you are correct that the damage from her 2 scales with Spirit Power, it still deals Melee Damage, which means that it is resisted by Bullet Resist, not Spirit Resist, and also that it procs effects caused by landing Melees (such as Lifestrike or even the Bullet Resist debuff from her 4). Her 2 also allows her to easily hop onto an enemy to be in Melee range in the first place!
And also Abrams actually has no abilities related to Melee at all. But since they synergize with a Melee-focused build, people consider him a Melee hero. Which is fine and accurate imo! But I definitely think Calico fits within that niche as well. -Derk

Imo melee doesnt fit her theme like it would with Abram as the big guy with a big book that he could smack people with (other than 4) and his charge, or Lash who uses a boxing glove gun, but has 0 melee buffs, which confused me when i started out since i do like melee themed characters.
So a cat lady whose theme is focused on summoning a cat, whose 2 is a leap/scratch and a invis, i find it weird that they added melee buffs to her. Prob did it so her 4 wasnt a Haze 2.
It is still very early stages and i hope they switch around some abilities in the ect. But mostly i think 80% is great.

melee bebop with uppercancel tech goes kinda crazy though you dont have the chase or innate sustain abrams has (but also just hook and combo them to oblivion)
