Awesome work, really like this style, showing more of your work and BTS. Thanks for your honesty, good to see whats possible when I've been in business a bit longer.
Really interesting OBP 😊 You work SO hard, late and long hours. I have no idea how you have time to fit in making them but your YT releases are always top of my viewing list. Glad to hear you put aside time to watch HOTD 😉
Good to see film makers sharing in this way. Your proportion of income to spending on gear is heaps higher than mine! I have five kids and a big house reno sucking all my cash so you're shooting on a Burano and I'm still on a BMPCC 4K! lol
@@OBP_ 🤣🤣 Truth is, I could probably dow ith spending a bit more and you could probably do with spending a bit less. I'd still survive and your work wouldn't suffer. But hey, all of us love the toys so no guilt required mate!
On one hand very true but to play devil's advocate could be seen as naive, do we truly think productions, producers and compays don't hire based on equipment 🤔 I hope i am wrong but my experience tells me they definitely do.
@@OBP_I have legitimately been told by clients that I’ve lost jobs to colleagues of mine because their camera looks more impressive to clients.. hit home hard since I was struggling with Covid debt at the time starting my own business without agency connections in 2020.
Wondering how the low light looks like on that burano? Meanwhile i shoot my Z cam at 100,000 iso and btw i haven’t used on camera lights hell not a single light to light a scene for 4 years!! $1,300 with $18k in gear all on 1 camera along with my numerous lenses
Now I finally understand why you can afford the burano. Also your production style seems very close to what i¨m trying to achieve. I wish I had a production van and a production cart
Love the channel brother. NYC filmmaker in North Portugal, if you're ever down this way let's collab. Great work and love the transparency! Cheers to you on the road to 100k subs!
Thanks for the info! I’m curious, you mention the amounts with and without expenses like travel and office rent etc but I’m wondering though whether your profit includes what you might charge as a kit fee to a client? I guess if I was to make an investment like the Burano I’d want to be charging clients a higher kit fee than I would for a Blackmagic or similar to recoup those costs. Personally I find it hard to increase my earnings beyond a certain amount, need to try a bit harder!
I think your youtube revenue is only going to increase, and at some point it is probably going to accelerate quite rapidly. Your content is excellent! And after finally switching from Canon to modern version Sony, I can totally understand you not being the least bit interested in downgrading to the C400. To me, Sony is just on a different level these days.

I appreciate this video man! Numbers like these are helpful for me to see!
Thanks for sharing this mate, really enjoying these vlogs as it shows a glimpse of the real life day to day . Hopefully one day myself..inspiring!
Proper knowledge, great work ethic and decent shoots! Love it 👊
I really love this kinds of videos!! Keep them coming

Think what you're doing is called being smart and not wasting all your money on gear like me 😂

Loving this Vlog. Yes bro 👊
Really nice four-day football result, Mr. OBP. Keep up the good work.
You know is not your camera. It's your clientele + Your Skills combined and the camera is only a tool like a hammer for any trader.

@@OBP_ I agree with you. They DO hire based on gear unfortunately - not just talent.

Woah woah woah woah woah woah - where we get this Photoshop lighting plan pack mate? Cummon now.
Great vids dude.
Called: Film Set Objects. a google will bring them right up. 🙌
What software do you use for your lighting design?
Just Photoshop, I use a pack called "film set objects" and just drag them in. If you do a Google search they will show up

Would love to see you do a video about getting permissions to shoot and location access type of video! 🎉🎉🎉
Great ideas, Al add it to my list.

Could you have pulled off similar shots and quality with your B-cam or other 'cheap' mirrorless camera like Sony FX-3, Panasonic S5II-X?
Maybe, even an FX6 or FX9 maybe? Or would the clients have seen less reasons to book me over someone else 🤷🏼♂️ it's hard to truly know.
i like ur channel. Keep doing it sr.:) are u working in London?
Outside of London. A city called Sheffield 🙌
Oh oh focus? 😂 great stuff, bruv.
