Hi this is almost identical to my story my dad passed away 6 years ago this month and I kept his mk1 focus rs. he bought it when it was 18months old. I have no plans to sell it because of the memories.

Carly's sound as a pound for looking after her da's car,he'll be looking down on her and smiling.Great to see all the hard bit's have been sorted,ie the sill's,arch's and bottom of the front wing's,Demon will find the missing 50 horse's and then it'll just be general maintance and driving the car and enjoying it. Just to throw in my 2p,I have a Mk 1 Focus RS myself,and they really need to be out of the weather,over the winter for sure at least.Great video as ever Adam.

That’s great (assuming its a focus). I’m stocking parts up big time. I’m finding some things difficult now for 2x St170’s I have in Australia. There would be less than 80- 90 left here all Imp blue 3dr with no options.
Seriously stock up what you can. Quality parts manufacturing for these is not growing and at some point the inventory runs out and it’s not worth making properly again except cheaply.

I bought one in 2005, had it for 4yrs, subtle mods and what a car so many great memories. Build number 1705, personally I think it would look a lot better without the tints on the windows.

Lost my own father this year aswell, he wasn't car mad but with what he left me, I went straight out and picked up my dream car, kind of like a sentimental parting gift, which no amount of money could replace - so understand not wanting to drive it as I feel the same way.
I’m sorry and share the same story as you.
Mum and Dad passed within two years of each other and left us a modest inheritance that they should have spent on themselves.
They were too frugal and wanted to leave us something.
We go on and remember them.

There are some things in this world which are priceless and although the investment value of the Mk1 FRS is guaranteed its the sentimental value and treasured memories that no amount of money can buy. Also i little word that on an MoT check at time of writing your Fathers FRS has had 15 MoT,s and not one failure and with the 80K on the clock (not many Mk1 FRS and boost that in there history portfolio, including mine)

Policy makers all around the world are openly shutting private transport down (drive to zero) bit by bit and making it harder and less convenient (smart cities) to have a car.

I've always said to myself that I want to pass a car that I love on to my son, and I always thought it would be a Ford as I've always been a blue oval nut, but I've also been a rally fan since the group B days and fell in love with the bug eye scooby when Burns had one. Well I now have a uk300 bug eye and hopefully I can get it back to a decent condition and pass this on, absolutely love it.
As you see in the comments it’s something to do if it can be looked after and not a burden.
I’m all out of close family and estranged.from the rest.
I don’t even have a will yet but Hopefully a keen enthusiast will want to look after them. One thing is for sure, I’m 50 I hope my 135 and 295 k cars outlast me because there is nothing else I want to drive that’s affordable.
Stock up on parts if you can.

Nice girl and great car , I’m sure she will carry on with the car for ever and possibly hand it down to her children . The children won’t realise what it is until they are older . But in a similar scenario it would be like my father giving me my grandads escort mk1 rs1600 from the 70’s

Enjoyed that carley s been paying attention she seems to know her stuff! Ap brakes shouldn’t be squealing probably glazed over get them pads out rub them face down in a puddle, then copper grease any part that touches the calliper. That should sort them out

I used to own an immaculate VR6 Corrado which I hated driving in case someone crashed into it. Irreplaceable cars are definitely tough to own.

Make your dad extra happy Carly, sell the Chelsea tractor and breathe some fire and glitter into that fine machine then daily it, I guarantee your dad will be in the passenger seat holding your hand everyday.
