Here's how much it *really* costs me to live alone in Dubai | rent, finances, move-in expenses

  • Update: I moved out to a 350 sq.ft studio apartment in Dubai! It's been the most *expensive*, but also fruitful journey to live alone, manage my own expenses, finances and more. Moving out was something I put on my vision board in 2021, and within exactly 12 months my dream has come true.
Watch this video to know all my expenses I've incurred moving out, why I think it's important to make this crucial decision, whether I feel lonely and loads more.

I think that with internet today , everyone feels the urge to live alone. Todays generation has been pampered so much with less physical work thanks to automatic washing machines, vacuum cleaners etc and cooked food so easily available in restaurants that no one now wants to live as a family. Its a big change and something which will defintely impact the future of the happy family that we now know. Here, you have a ready family and still you want to move out as the freedom to live alone, experiment , party is more than everything. You think it will be for few months or year , but I will tell you upfront that you will never be satisfied with any one else as once you live alone then you can never adjust with anybody.

      Have you lived alone?

    • @TwinkleStanly
      @TwinkleStanly  ปีที่แล้ว +230

Since you’ve not replied, let me address your comment.
      1. “Today’s generation has been pampered…”. Pampered? Advancement in technology is meant to make your life easier. What’s wrong in that? Why are you glorifying manual labour? Do you not use washing machines? Are you still adamant on hand-washing clothes? Why do you want to make a hard life sound rewarding?
      2. “…party more than anyone.” Funny that I didn’t even mention that anywhere?
      3. “You will never be satisfied with anyone else.” I believe that is the point sir. The fact that many women do not know how to live alone and fend for something *is* the reason they stay in toxic relationships, abusive marriages and so on. Women NEED this period of individuality so that when they marry old-fashioned traditional people like you, they’re not scared of cutting it off to live alone. I rather thrive living alone than be stuck living with a man.
      Off to party now xx

Id advise you delete this comment, its a ridiculous comment. Just because you live alone doesnt mean you can't adjust when with other people in the future, everyone needs to have a period where they have the space and time to learn about themselves so they can perform better for themselves and have better experiences with themselves and with others.

I love the fact that you pointed out that we should also celebrate living alone, I badly wanted to do it but due to some reasons i couldn't. Im very greatful for the family and life I have but sometimes I just imagine how it would have been to stay alone before the marriage and a child. And it also help us to understand if we have to stay or leave, when we are in an abusive or toxic relationship. Glad that i stumbled upon your video ❤

Even though I don’t live in dubai it was definitely informative as I’m also keen to move out so the timing of the video was great. good. you will never tire of living alone. as women, we are expected to bend and twist to suit everyone else. You are right when you say "we are individuals"! Yes, we are human, and have likes and dislikes and the right to feel able to express ourselves and feel comfortable and at peace in our own homes. So often, men dominate these spaces and we find ourselves adjusting to their realities. To have a space, one's home, to be wholely ones self without compromise is not "lucky" or "a gift", it's our right. As Virginia Wolf rightly says... "A room of one's own". All the best to you

Moving out to live alone when I turned 20 was the best decision and unlike the boomer in the comment section- my mum actually supported the decision because as she said "you need to learn how the world works". I did learn a lot on how the adult life works, responsibilities, and it helped me organize my finance, bills, documents, and uni classes effectively, and I'm smarter with my money too. When I first moved out, I started by moving in with a friend's friend, and that taught me a lot.

Your rent is very very well priced as the ones I have inquired on are three times that and not one agent has got in touch with me neither via email or whatsapp or even a call although I am not in the Emirates at moment

    I like your makeup 💄🤩❤️
I completely agree with you. Unfortunately, even to this day Indian or in general women from the subcontinent have their life split between these two distinct phases. It's always one family or the other. If women plan and get at least five years in their life that are truly their own, it will give them a lot of confidence and life skills. ❤️

Salam for 28000 a year which is $7700 you can stay with your parents save your 2-3 yrs or 1 yr salary and than put a down payment and do monthly emi so you don’t waste your money, rent is just throwing away money. This would be investing your work money and when you sell property you get your money back plus more. I know lot of younger generations don’t think like older generation but I tell same to my nieces, nephews brother etc…

28K AED a year?! Where?? Best I can find in Dubai is 40-50k. Surely prices haven't gone up by that much in just one year.

Hey, just a quick question. What would be considered a good earning in dubai? Is 20k AED good amount or no to live as a bachelor? Also, considering that someone wants to save 50% of their money atleast.
What all to keep in mind if someone is moving from India? How much to save have in account before moving there? Would appreciate your thoughts.

Hi, I'm going to live in Dubai soon. Can you help me to provide some locations with a similar price as yours? So I can easier search for it.
