Tim Zormier The same. We never had but maybe 20 brewers games on Tv a season so always listened to Bob and watched the Cubs (I’ll deny if asked lol) on WGN with Harry when Dunston, Sanberg, Hawk etc. Wished Uecker would be there forever but I realize one day he will not be there. Don’t want to think about that
This is Skip Carey with the Atlanta Braves, don't forget we've got 24 hours of Charles Bronson on WTBS. ..Say that and pinch your nose shut you'll sound just like him
I'm in the very small minority but I hated listening to Harry Carey. Dude made my ears bleed. I'd usually wind up watching the game on mute. Lol. Love Uek though.
Yep. Mr. Baseball in Harry Carey town. Two legends; there have been many greats though. I grew up in San Diego so I could listen to Vin Scully(Dodgers) regularly, and the voice of the Padres, Jerry Coleman! Most of you never heard of him, but he was a fantastic announcer with his "Oh Doctor! You can hang a star on that one!" call-- where he would drop a sparkling gold star on a string from the booth! But best of all were his legendary and famous "Colemanisms". There are 100's; so many great ones a book was published with some of his best. DON'T KNOW WHAT A COLEMANISM IS? They go something like THIS: "...and he slides into second with a standup double!" Classic! I miss him and so many others... but America's game keeps going through it all...THANK GOD!
SOP is to interrupt and give the count and the outs. Both Cubs broadcasters just let the images flow, and let Uke talk.
legend
I grew up with Harry Kalas and the Phillies. Got introduced to Ueck from the Major League movies. Love this guy. What a legend!
I grew up with Dizzy Dean and Pewee Reese.
I grew up with Harry Carey and Bob Uecker. Two of the best broadcasters in baseball.
