    Nice video. You mentioned floating a magnetized piece of paper clip on a leaf will find "True North". It finds "Magnetic North". In New England, it makes over 15° difference.

    • @christopherellis2663
      @christopherellis2663 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In New Zealand, it points to NNE, in the South east Pacific, it points East!

    Dear sootch you said that the compass would find true north when it will actually will find magnetic north and this is very important because the angle between true north and magnetic north increases the further north you go and this could get one into a worse perdicament in a survival situation and this angle must be taken into great consideration for us viewers in Alaska
    Thank you for your time, Riley

    Next time I find a paper clip in school, instead of bending it every possible way then pinging it across the class when the teacher isn't looking, I might try one of these.

    with rolls of tape I usually take the last ½ inch or so and fold on itself with the nonsticky side out. Easy to find and you have a Little pulltab to get some the next time because some tape can be a pain to get a hold of.

  • @jaednhowlar2359

    Some people have commented that you have a lot of non survival ideas. One rebuttal to this is that you are giving people ways to approach a normal level of convenience if you were in a crazy grid down scenario. You are scavenging and you find some normal item. Paper clips. What can you do with these to make your home base more livable? How can you use the things other people pass by to make yourself prepared for different situations? Fishing hooks, usable storage, repairing broken items, this is all very important to you zombie apocalypse preppers....

    Your videos are quite helpful. Now let me share what I am using to assist making some of these projects with paper clips. If you take the opener that you will find on a can of spam, a paper clip will slide into the opening and you can bend the paper clip very easily. It can give a sharp even bend or a curl with ease. I keep one on my key chain to help with different things. Odd things with odd uses. :-)

    Here are 3 more uses for paper clip.
    1. Can be used to either short circuit a fuse or to connect but make sure electricity is off.
    2. Can be used to strength a signal on a tv if you take a paperclip and make a triangle out of it. Works best with 90s tvs.
    3. Can be used to shimmy handcuffs.
