I must admit I didn’t know the Saturn got a mouse. Obvious really because my ex & me plaid Dracula the Resurrection with a Play Station mouse. I don’t recall if we played Discworld with the mouse but we played all of them. I’m sorry but playing a light gun game with ‘not a light gun’ is a crime. How dare you show people such a thing! Holy ffffffff…un! I just realised I have a Diamond Edge 3D in storage that adds Saturn controller ports to the PC! I need to get a shuttle mouse & set up a retro gaming rig to see what happens? Interesting video, thanks. As you showed a good few consoles got mice before consoles got USB ports so I should have realised the Saturn got one. Fun to hear a bit of Discworld in Japanese too. 😄
I think due to the limited release most don't remember the mouse (even less likely to know about it in PAL regions), I think the Playstation mouse did much better on that front. and sorry about showing playing a lightgun game with a mouse, I feel bad about it. Even if I did play a few demos of them on PC in the 90s 😉 Nice on the Diamon Edge 3D, a cool card. hopefully the mouse works with it, I honestly not sure if it would or not. Discworld in Japanese was odd, cool and utterly confusing. so it was in keeping with the game 😁
A surprising number of them did, but they never really sold and support was all over the place. I'd like to cover more as I've done the SNES mouse in the past, but finding them in good condition is the hard part.
Any idea of the Pal Versions if Sim City 2000 and Theme Park work with the Mouse? As for changing weapons in Doom, My best guess is that it was intended to be used with the Saturn Keyboard. Using the F buttons to change Weapons, As per the PC Version.
I was using this site as a reference for what games has support : segaretro.org/Shuttle_Mouse and it doesn't mention Sim City 2000 or Theme Park, doesn't mean that they don't its possible no one has tried them. but due to the fact the mouse never came out in PAL regions, its not likely. and yeah its possible that the Saturn Keyboard might work with Doom, I don't have one to test with and it doesn't help that even the mouse wasn't mentioned in the manual.
I'll have to be on the look out for the PS1 mouse, even if its not my favorite machine. and best of luck with Discworld, I've never finished it my self.
I've not come across any so far, I'm mostly joking that I'd rather not use well known series names from bigger channels. I'm not trying to ride on anyone else's popularity.

A nice bit of Saturn coverage :) Looks like Virtual Cop was well supported!
Can't go wrong with Saturn content!

I had no idea that the Saturn had a mouse. It makes sense though, based on the era.
Nice video.
Thanks, Happy you enjoyed it
Shame that SimCity 2000 isn't compatible with the mouse, it could have REALLY done with it!
Yeah, I think if it had a wider release it would have gotten more support.
More consoles should have mice, by default.

@@GouldFishOnGamesThe mouse for the PlayStation 1 should be also interesting.
The Wii pointer control is really just the same, I can't stand playing Swords and Soldiers on anything else...

Playstation Discworld had mouse support, if ones able to find one. I started that game 2 years ago, still haven't finished it ha

hey dude , how come your saaroo without lights, where did u buy it?
Off a random Aliexpress shop, this was at the start of 2024 so I doubt that shop is even around anymore.
@@GouldFishOnGames can u please check and give us shop name / link
Great now theres something else I ant to buy that i'll probably never use!!
Then my work here is done!
I don't understand why House of the Dead doesn't support the shuttle mouse.
If I remember rightly it was a bit of a late game, and I guess by then they didn't think it had sold well enough to add support?
policenauts
oddware
It very much feels like oddware, but wouldn't want to step on the toes of the Retro Gaming TH-cam Titians 😉
