There's a bit more to one of those reviews that criticized the control scheme in Alien Resurrection. It's already funny to look back on in hindsight knowing it has become the standard for FPS controls, but the reviewer also said people should just pass on Resurrection and wait for Aliens Colonial Marines (mind you it was originally scheduled for a 2001 release on PS2). Yeah that actually happened.

My dad worked on the Die hard trilogy. Interesting fact (which is probably widely known by now) the faces of the enemies are the faces of the game developers.
IIRC, as with Command & Conquer Red Alert PS1 titles, the mouse controller worked best alongside a second controller's face buttons via the other controller jack in order to access functions / command units, etc. without having to click upon the on-screen menu. ... If anyone's curious, the first C&C release on PS1 does NOT support mouse controller.

By watching videos like this one I remember how gaming is diverse and sometimes over the top! I mean, if you only pay attention to current big releases it may appear to be a "samy", repetitive industry, which is totally not the case.
I don't know if anyone told you before, but Biohazard Gun survivor used the gun alone, if you used it. The buttons on the sides turn your character, and the trigger is how you walk in game. If I remember correctly, only when you aim at the screen, do you shoot.
That's like the only good thing about that game tbh. Granted I haven't played it myself nor do I plan to anytime soon unless I come across it at a local game store for cheap. Otherwise I'll pass on it
Man I loved me some Diehard trilogy when I was younger. All three games were really good, I'll never forget driving up on the sidewalk in Diehard with a vengeance, the absolute brutality of it.
I still get cold sweats and borderline PTSD from the Scissorman chase music in Clock Tower. So many long nights with my brothers taking turns, getting scared, handing out over to my oldest brother and then peeking out in sheer terror from behind my bed sheets, but unable to stop watching... Everyone needs to play this game, mouse or not. Be patient, the opening is a slow burn.
I have one of these and used it when playing Project Horned Owl, Lemmings 3D and Die Hard Trilogy. In that trilogy, Die Hard 3 even had support for a steering wheel which I think made it more fun to play and quite a bit easier too.

Ahhhh you tease us with that Vampire Night port on your desk. So many extras on that thing. It's such a stupid, dumb, glorious game and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love it.
Like the mvps that they are, Derek and Grace upload a video just as Im about to resign myself to eating my burger with nothing to watch.
Whoa another SSFF vid already? Hell yeah
03:25 for a random appearance by F1 driver Jean Alesi
I did a double take when you showed Sorcerer's Maze gameplay and it turned out to be Prism Land Story. I played the japanese version many years ago via emulation and I really liked it. Hmm, learning about the mouse support might be the perfect excuse to play it again after so long.
Few things make me as happy as a new SSFF vid. Let's gooooo
I love all the dumb peripheral Punching Weights, Derek and Grace. Awesome job, as usual.
I just want to start a campaign to get a PVM CRT for Derek because the fact that he has everything else on his desk, & not something as coosh as a Sony PVM 14L5 is the realest Greek tragedy that I can think of...
That Dreamcast keyboard was essential for playing phantasy star online. Made chat so much quicker. Good I loved that game.
1:15 I mean, you can find a Zeebo on Mercado Livre for less than R$ 450, which is less than US$ 80.
I am loving the King's Field screenshot wallpaper Derek
Ghoul panic was my game back in the day, I'm so glad it's getting some love. Even if only a short mention. Had no idea it never came out in us. Make me so sad
imo consoles having mouse support should still be a thing. Like, they throw cities skylines on PlayStation plus but who wants to play that without a mouse?
If they did then maybe the FPS genre wouldn't have been ruined by console shooters.
Don't current gens support keyboard and mouse?
Edit: I'm not sure every game supports it but xbone and ps4 do natively support usb keyboard and mouse.
The PlayStation Mouse can produce mind-boggling videos.
I recommend playing Clock Tower II:The struggle within/Ghost Head :P
Reason: Has Bates
That's like the only good thing about that game tbh. Granted I haven't played it myself nor do I plan to anytime soon unless I come across it at a local game store for cheap. Otherwise I'll pass on it
This game has one of the worst case of Americanization this case of the first Persona.
Kids today don't know the pain of boiling an egg for a new yolk for your mouse ball >:c
Luxury! I had to polish billiard balls until they were small enough to fit!
wait people actually do that?
@@drrnvevo Yeah dude! I used to keep a spare in my fingerbox.
Such nostalgia!
I bet console mice would've caught on much better if they had optical mice at the time.
@@plasmaoctopus1728 Yeah, 'cuz then you could use them on the bare carpet no problem.
The mouse technically working on time crisis but not showing a cursor makes me think it might have been a debug feature they didn't bother removing.
I have one of these and used it when playing Project Horned Owl, Lemmings 3D and Die Hard Trilogy.
In that trilogy, Die Hard 3 even had support for a steering wheel which I think made it more fun to play and quite a bit easier too.
Oh i fucking lost it at "Thanks, Derek."
