I have a Nissan Micra and it has an issue where occassionally the speedometer stops working and the abs warning light, brake warning light and intelligent key warning light is on. After a while, the warning lights turn off and the speedometer starts working fine. This happens intermittently and scan results showed a U1001 code. Any idea what could be the issue ?
Yet to get it fixed. Nissan Authorised service centre claims that the speedometer unit is faulty and recommended replacing it. But I'm not convinced, since the speedometer works fine intermittently. They are avoiding me now, when I asked them to demonstrate it by installing my speedometer unit on another Nissan Micra or install a working speedometer unit to my car.
@@Vishnukkaass what I have found is that the speed sensors in the rear of these cars are known to go out often, but since they are using a DC voltage(Nissan tried that for a couple years and realized It was a bad idea) instead of an AC voltage when they go out they usually short out the abs pump. If you pull your rear speed sensors I bet one of them will be scratched up. There is a TSB on this issue for the 06 Nissan Maxima
