Just strung this up for my kid, He LOVES it. Much better release than the store bought head combo. Took some time, messed up a few times, but figured it out.
Great video, thank you for the detail. And you guys do great string jobs on your complete sticks. I bought two Powell Scouts that are perfect out of the box.
The best tutorial I have ever watched to string a head this was my first time stringing one and it turned out good tommorow I have practice and will test this but so far I have cradled and it felt more controlled and my shooting felt more smooth
Please show the steps for the right side as well instead of just showing the steps for the left side. I know it is the same but it is confusing having to translate the steps to the opposite side. Great video!
Tried this technique, but I end up with an unused diamond at the end for the topstring. I think I have a 10 diamond mesh and this technique/demonstration uses a 9 diamond mesh. Is there a solution? Maybe skip two diamonds in the middle, between the left/right 3 hole spots? (This could cause a weird pocket pinch though) Thanks, trying to string up a stick for my son, I haven't strung one in 20 years!
I have watched this tutorial multiple times and have done 4 heads. 2 have been awesome. 2 have been awful. But I have a much better understanding why after watching this again. I got asked to string a head for a friend of the family so just watched again! And will have the video up while I’m stringing. Question…what do you have the head mounted to while stringing? It’s a pain to just hold the head and maneuver it!
I got a Stringking mark 2v and some strings and stuff because I want to play catch with some of my friends who are big into lacrosse. What would be a good setup for that? Im building my own to give me something to do. I have a full string kit and dont know what ones to use.
@@brodog-se8fy mine turned out ass lol I didnt have enough string so i strung another string together because i needed practice the next day (which is today.(the time that I posted this comment))
The shooting strings add a quick fix to how your stick is throwing! For example, if your stick is throwing high you can tighten up the shooter to add a bit more 'whip' to your stick.
Way to many heads on the market to have tutorials for each one. I just reposted this video for the team GROUPME page to give the players the basics. This video does a great job in teaching basic, easy, and workable knots etc. Every pocket uses some variations of top holes and sidewall holes. You'll have to make adjustments along the way as you learn your stick and pocket. Every player should know how their particular head is strung. String it, find a wall, test it out, make any needed adjustments until you like what you've done. STOP ASKING COACHES TO RESTRING YOUR STICKS.
I would recommend replacing the 2 shooting cords with a shooting lace if you'd like to go this route. The release will be a bit smoother- in turn you will not feel the ball come out of the stick as much.
It’s because they don’t want you to learn and buy from them… If everyone learned how to string there own sticks ECD and others would lose money… they want you to over pay for everything. These companies also have cut their marketing budgets and want you to post videos for them. Lazy marketing sucks. Capitalism is a tricky game of supply and demand. This is a lost Art form and young kids should never give into the bs.
Yes, I string sticks for EDC and the top string is called the “Hidden Top String”. ECD using only 4 top holes for the “elite” pocket. Powell using 6 top holes. Hope this helps…
Terrible! Maybe you could not cover up the holes and other stuff and maybe take more slow than normal type of pace. This video should be for a refresher or to learn so it should be more slow
@@PowellLacrosse Hello! I apologize for the critique. I'm 46 just joined an old man league, first time back on the field in 20 years. I forgot how to catch! Anyway, I always was a traditional "pita pocket" guy (thanks Mike Watson) but used your method to string my first stick in eons. I really like it now and I now understand the method to your madness. But I strung up a STX Super Power Plus and it straight up warped the head. I like it, it pinches in the bottom rail of the plastic kinda like an old OG warrior Blade. I never really used mesh much in my day but the few times I did I never payed attention the orientation of the 10 vs 9 diamond and which to put at the top. In this case I did the 10 at the top. What is your suggestion in this situation? Is one way better than the other or does it strictly depend on the head design? I would like to be able to recreate this in all my heads but I realize the Super Power Plus is more flexible than a lot of heads.
@@andyervin2910 No worries man! This pocket is specifically designed for the Powell Pioneer II Transition so it may not translate perfectly to all heads. Like you said the flexibility of the head plays a large factor in this. My initial recommendation is to adjust where the knots are tied accordingly, if the head is warping move the knot up a hole and so on. Personally, I almost always use a 9 diamond top string- seems to keep the mesh a bit more symmetrical throughout the head.
@@PowellLacrossethey are probably just upset they didn’t do it right. I messed up and mine was to tight around the pocket but it still was a good tutorial

This taught me how to string and I am extremely grateful 🙏🏻
TYSM it was my first time stringing and I did it in like an hour. Thank you
First time stringing a stick. This was probably a more complex one but I love the way it turned out!!
At first I didn’t really like this vid but it actually helps and is a good way to learn thumbs up 👍

Thanks for a stringing tutorial for the pioneer 2! This is like the only one on TH-cam

Dope, strung my first head w this tutorial
How'd it turn out?
@@brodog-se8fy mine turned out ass lol I didnt have enough string so i strung another string together because i needed practice the next day (which is today.(the time that I posted this comment))
is it okay if i only wrap the top string on step 1 around once instead of twice? it’s just not long enough.
Yes! One time around is usually enough to do the job.
less string = less weight. grams matter!
Good tutorial it was my first time took me about 4 hours but good vid
thanks!
do you have to have a powell head for this to work best???
Hi, no you don't need to have a Powell Head, but you might need to adjust where some of the knots are. This stringing should work on any head!
my string is ending short idk why because it has been strung before
What pocket do you get with this method?
This is our patented Powell Pocket. Mid pocket with minimal whip!
@@PowellLacrosse Thanks. I might get a new d-head, and I’m going to string it up with this.
What is the point of the shooting strings ? Both of them ?
you need them to make your shot and pas better and keeps the ball in the head better

I have 13 holes for my sidewalls and all these videos have more than 13 how do I do it?
Its been 4 hours and I have no progress
what does the shooting cord do what is the different between a shooting crd and string\
There isn’t much its just for control

Amazing. Thank you!!!
if i wnat my stick to have 2 shooter strings where would i put the second one ?

What is the pattern for the Attack version?
Will this give me a high pocket or a low pocket?
This is intended to give you a mid-pocket on our Powell Pioneer II Transition!
@@PowellLacrosse thank you I strung my stick and it’s shooting great
I think i did it wrong my stick turned into a goalie d-pole and the head was a girls head🤔
Can you please make a video on an optik 3.0, ecd and mako sports don’t make them anymore

how do you still have a job like all you have to do is explain...
He doesn’t just explain it he actually strings sticks for Powell. As he stated at the start
overkill
Just the measures we take to make sure the Powell Pocket comes out perfect every time!

Why
Because either they did it wrong or don’t have the same stick head
makes no sence
Bro horrible turtorial
What can we do to improve the tutorial?
