  • Couch grass is a perennial plant that is commonly found in many parts of the world. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat a variety of health conditions.
Couch grass tea is known for its diuretic properties, which means that it increases urine production and helps to flush out toxins from the body. This makes it an excellent natural remedy for urinary tract infections and kidney stones.
For kidney patients, couch grass tea can be especially beneficial. It can help to reduce swelling and inflammation in the kidneys, which can help to improve kidney function. It also helps to regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels, which are important factors in maintaining good kidney health.
If you are part of our Kidney Disease Solution community then you will no doubt have read in our book about the amazing effects of Nanna’s Tea. This Tea is an integral part of our kidney healing program. We have had thousands of testimonials over the years about the Kidney Disease Solution program, but something that stands out the most is how amazing people feel after drinking what we called Nanna’s Kidney Tea.
Couch grass tea is also rich in antioxidants, which help to protect the body against damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to the development of chronic diseases, including cancer and heart disease.
In this podcast, Fiona and Emily talk about Couch Grass, which is one of the key ingredients in Nanna’s Tea and its benefits in renal disease and what are the things that people should be aware of before taking couch grass.

The ingredients for the tea have been hit or miss.. I can never find them all at the same time so I'm drinking Nettle Tea while patiently awaiting Nanas Tea 😊

Hey Stephanie, good news it is on its way! We have just finished the tea box design and we are on schedule to have manufacturing finished end of January so hoping to have it available by mid Feb. Everything takes 100 x longer than we would like especially in these times! Oi! :-)

How does one make the tea? Do you use the roots of the grass part? I have couch grass growing can I simply pick some, roots and grass and pour boiling water over it?

It's the rhizome that is used mainly for bladder and kidney health. Best if you can dry it out first and make sure it is in fact 100% couch grass and not something else. :-)
