لقد نال الفريد هذه الجائزة بعد عام من رحيله ، وبالطبع يتم التعتيم الممنهج على جميع إنجازات هذا العملاق الفريدي العالمي وهذا الوسام مذكور تحت تمثاله في دار الاوبرا المصري وفي الكتب الصادرة عن الفريد. هذا ان لم نذكر جريمة إعدام الأرشيف المرئي بكامله في التلفزيون المصري للموسيقار فريد في سنة ١٩٨٨ بإعتراف المسؤولة عن التلفزيون آنذاك سامية صادق ، لهذا لم ينجوا سوى على حفلتين او ثلاثة مصورين للموسيقار الفريد.

Jay thanks for the reaction. This is a oud improvisation which is was common for Farid to do during his concert performances. The entire song from this concert is on my channel, and it's about 50 minutes long. I don't think he wasn't distracted in that moment you mentioned. This was a close-up his face and you can see all his emotional facial expressions as he was playing. The audience was very excited as Farid had come back to Egypt in 1970 for the first time in a few years. My channel has a HQ Oud playlist where you can find many great performances. @@FaridHQ , Ça fait plus de trente ans que j’écoute du Farid , je connais tout son répertoire , dommage qu’il n’ait pas crée de grande œuvres orchestrales comme Ennio Morricone , des chefs-d’œuvre immortels ou simplement de grandes partitions au ” Oûd “ non improvisée , je me demande encore aujourd’hui pourquoi il n’y’ a jamais eu de collaboration avec des artistes occidentaux pour crée quelques choses d’exceptionnels entre Occident et Orient …….. Il aurait pu faire quelques choses d’extraordinaire avec Paco De Lucia le plus grand guitariste flamenco par exemple …… Pourquoi avoir été enfermé dans cet Orient sans jamais pouvoir s’exporter ailleurs avec nos Music , comme jadis , l’a fait le cinéma indien ?!……..

One of the iconic Farid al-Atrache was "Ya Gamil" (Oh beautiful) resulting from his amourous relationship with singer Maya Casabianca. The latter had a massive hit with it in the Middle East and even in France in French. An Arabic crossover hit in France for Farid al-Atrache in the early 1960s! Farid al-Atrache sang it also in all Arabic lyrics. There have been many remixes of the song and many many covers. Just an iconic song. I am pretty sure it has been done in other languages as well.

He is not just a singer. He is a great music composer also. Arabs love the introductory music especially if played by that instrument which is called Oud.

Farid was the king of Oud for real, I believe if I am not wrong that this was his first performance after his return to Egypt in the early 1970s, after he took a break due to his health staying in Lebanon for several years in the 1960s, that's why you see the audience is so excited.. I think Farid was born in April 21, 1910.. and not in 1917
It's been debated. He himself said multiple time it was 1917. His birth certificate which you can find online says 1917. But of course Arabs are notorious for not knowing their precise birthday or year of birth. Naeem Mamoon, who I consider a top Farid historian has really looked into this matter, and has concluded it was October 18 or 19, 1915. So I think in that timeframe. I'm not sure why 1910 became some kind of official date, based on what? It's clearly wrong, just based on photos of Farid when he immigrated to Egypt and other photos.
@@FaridHQ Because before the year 1920 all the records were controlled by the Ottoman Empire, the correct date and birth certificates you could find in their archives now in Turkey.. But yea, because Farid was active during the early 30s so I find it hard to believe that he was born in 1917.. at least he needs to be around 18 year old.. And he became famous around 1940 and started doing movies, before that he worked at a private radio as a singer around 1935 and before that as a disciple for Al Sunbati (between 1931 and 1933)
We can fetch his birth certificate from Turkey archives, and his death certificate from Lebanon.

Assuming Hé is playing in C
D is altered to half flat
(quarter tone) this means you have to alter the D flat note which is already altered on tempered scale (classical or occidental music) this means also that you can not play rabea taksim with à classical keyboard or guitar this can be done with à fretless string instrument or keyboard tuned in oriental mode
Almost every Farid song has a quarter tone in at least one section. Off the top of my head, trying to think of one that doesn't, I go to the instrumentals. Kahramana doesn't, neither does the prelude to Banadi Alek.

Yes, it's never enough. I mean every work Farid ever did is a masterpiece. There are no average songs. They are all genius and different. This is his 4th Farid video and each time many of his fans tell's him, you need to do this one or that one. He can make 100 Farid videos and we will still tell him others that he needs to do!
