    Greetings from Germany Black Forest Freiburg. I hope you enjoyed your Trip. I was two times on this Zeppelin. 2011 over Friedrichshafen and 2015 at night with dinner on Board of the Zeppelin during the firework of the Seehasenfest.

    Very cool to see that y'all visited my top recommendation in Germany (Lake Constance) and the city in which I most want to live! How Chantal pronounced Friedrichshafen the first time in the intro sounds very close and good to me. If you haven't already come across the website Forvo, I can highly recommend it for pronunciation. For example, the city names of all the cool places y'all will experience in the future!
    Gute Reise!

      Thanks for sharing. I’ve never heard of that site for learning how to pronounce cities. That would be super helpful. 🙌

    @12:00: "... it took you weeks to cross the atlantic": 1936, when the airship Hindenburg began operation, the "Queen Mary" crossed the atlantic with an average speed of 30 knots. That means 4 days and a couple of hours from Cherbourg to New York.
    1929, the ship "Bremen" carried passengers with almost 28 knots across the atlantic.
    So it wasn't THAT bad.
    Cruising speed of the Hindenburg: ~68 knots. Depending on wind conditions, rather slower from east to west, rather faster from west to east.
    Still a substantial difference to ships. Comparable to the Concorde and normal planes.
    ------------
    However, nice video!

      How do you know all this info? I’m starting to learn so much from your comments 😂😂

    • @701983
      @701983 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrowingUpWithoutBorders I'm glad you appreciated the information, I didn't want to be a smartass/nitpicker.
      I'm a big fan of these old giant zeppelines, so I've read a lot about it.
      I was in the zeppelin museum too, but many years ago.

    Yes, Chloe just about sums it up, "I know planes, cos I had a game about planes". As a (former) tourist I know how much fun it can be visiting all these amazing places, but no tourist is going to tell you that the info you acquire is anything but entertaining and superficial. I hope the kids benefit from this period in their lives by developing inquisitive minds, because none of the info is going to be useful. They will be skilled travellers, but it will be years before people will be able to travel like we did in 2019. And I hope they are getting real skills, like in mathematics, because that will train their thinking in a certain way, and music and language and history - not the type that is "Oh, I went there in 2017", but having the historical knowledge that explains why this country did this or that and what it takes to change a country for the better. The skills your girls will need to face the future we have provided for them are hard to determine at this point, but I'm sure they'll attack it with confidence and guts.

    I grew up in Vorarlberg, Austria, less than 30 km away from Friedrichshafen.
    Did you visit Vorarlberg too, when you were in this region? Would have been an easy way to add Austria to your list of countries.
    But I suppose, you want to visit more "typical Austrian" places like Salzburg and Vienna?

    • @GrowingUpWithoutBorders
      @GrowingUpWithoutBorders  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn’t make it to Voranlberg. Back in 2013 we did visit Vienna though but this was way before we had a TH-cam channel. We’ll have to come back to make a nice video! I hope you enjoy some of our other video too!
