    The primordial ॐ can be experienced if you are very attentive in listening the Alaap. That's the uniqueness of this most ancient stringed instrument known to the mankind.
    Renowned Rudra Veena maestro ASAD ALI KHAN says:
    The veena is considered the mother of all stringed instruments, created by Lord Shiva himself to express the five swaras. It is the origin of shruti, the very foundation of our music, rooted in our spiritual life. In its
    resonance there is matchless depth and profundity, to express poignancy and pathos as also softness and delicacy.

    Lalit is one of my favourite raags ever! It's ethereal on the Rudra Veena. And the way she teases the audience, omg, such technique! The way rests on the suddha ma knowing very well the audience is waiting for that hit of the teevra ma, and when it comes, she does it with such grace! This was beautiful!

      The Mighty Shiva played the Rudra Veena.
      Raavana is the greatest example of what ones false egotism can do to you even if you are an exponent and blessed by Shiva himself.
      Rama did Akal Bodhon of Maa Durga to defeat the Raavan who was blessed by Shiva. Only Devi's grace can defeat him. We should take lessons from Raavan and not glorify him.

    As she starts playing on the lower octaves of the Ragas, the melodious shower of music entices the audience and she gradually, phase by phase, takes them into a trance as the notes lead them, to 'Nada-Samadhi'. It is an experience that is impossible to verbalize. She becomes an enchantress as she takes the audience into confidence with a promise of some great secret and becomes one with the raga and the audience. The audience become spell bound. According to her students, they have a Kaleidoscopic experience, when she guides them. I know because this has happened to me. By grace I met a yoga jinn who was the master of the Been.

      This is the orignal style of holding the Veenas. During the older period even Saraswati Veena (which is predominantly used in South) was held like this. It was later adapted to the style we see today probably because it became heavy after modifications. However, Rudra Veena is light and can be easily played like this. However artists who have modified Rudra Veena like Carstein Wickie or Zia Mohinuddin Dagar play it in the South Indian Style as it cannot be carried on shoulder for so long.

    • @deanmartin7370
      @deanmartin7370 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Firstly you must mean take the Ma as if it were Sa, or the Sa as Pa. If you take the Pa as Sa you're completely changing everything. And even if you take the Ma as Sa, there would be a lot of strong DN phrasing, which is not present in Multani. And anyway, the tanpura is clearly set to Ma. Sounds entirely dissimilar

      Traditional Rudraveena has little opener Jawari and Dagars have round sound jawari and longer sustain a bit. I like both ❤️. Dagars have a roaring and heavy Veena and Traditional Rudraveena has bit sharper sound. 🙏🏻🎉❤️
