These are the best mini-skidsteers ever made. My dad and I have 2 of them. The specifications in the book are egregiously under stated. We’ve discovered that they actually perform about 17% higher than listed. This video made my day.
This is great news! I could tell it's a very solid machine, but I have limited experience with industrial equipment. I will be a great tool when it is finished!
More recent repairs have alerted me to another cause of oil starvation. My filter was not flowing enough and this machine does not have pressurized filtration. The drivers side is more likely to be starved due to the 't' fitting. Make sure you have flow after the filter. Let me know how it works out for you.
Jim, the Case gets used several times a week. It still needs TLC, but it can put in some work when necessary. Today I pulled the motor out of a Subaru.
thank you! I was able to find the root of the failure in the left pump. I could not fix the pump, but found a good used pump on ebay. My test of the replacement pump affirms my diagnosis. I will have the machine back together soon.
@@kimfixesthings I have adjusted the chains and linkages on the drivers side on my 1816b. It can now pivot in reverse and forward pivot is a little better but still not optimal. I believe now that it is either the belt slipping on the pump or the hydrostatic pump on driver side. Have been looking for a used one or maybe a rebuild kit if that is an option. This skid steer sent me down a rabbit hole 😀

Neat little skid steer. Vane pumps? Water causes vanes to stick. Belt drive unit with spring tension looks worn out..got GTAW?
no vane pump. it's a combination gear pump and rotating piston. pretty complex to allow for forward or reverse hydrostatic operation.
