  • In this video, you will get to see the repair process of the engine wiring harness on the 8R 370 that I towed out of the field. A bird's nest on top of the engine did some serious damage to the harnesses and sensors. Going to get this job done on a hot 95 degree day. Good thing i'm prepared!

Thanks for another great video ZK and Joseph.
It was interesting and informative and enjoyable to watch.
My compliments to you ZK and Joseph also. ZK you are doing a great job teaching Joseph. He should be another good technician.
Glad you had those umbrellas to work under in the heat. Those were just the ticket. Nice items to carry with you.
You have the right items for the right time ZK.
Getting those wiring harnesses replaced took a while. You had to remove a lot of pieces to get at the old stuff that was burned. You and Joseph did a great job on this beast doing the plug and play trick. Nice work. Don’t think a lot of people realize how much you have to remove to make the repair. Super job you two.
Tractor is up and running. Yeah!!!!!’
    About it I guess.
    Thanks for everything ZK.
    Learned a lot again.
    Thanks.

Way back in my youth somewhere in the dark ages, we often had to do a repair out in the open, no tree, no nothing, hand tools and a CAT 920 loader as a crane ! we thought nothing of it, but man it would have been cool (excuse the double usage of the word) had we a tent of sorts ! Nice job, good to see a great start up.

Yep, pictures and video will save a lot of time putting things back together.
I've removed a few birds nests in my days out of compartments and up by lights, sometimes starting a tractor it'll blow a nest out of the exhaust. Even if a machine sits for 1 day there can be a nest or two built. Luckily haven't started a fire yet, but I'm sure it's inevitable someday...

  • @alanclark639
    @alanclark639 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

I learn't all my early beginnings on heavy plant out in the open - was tempted to call it a baptism of fire - except that it was the winter of '62/3 and many of the machines were frozen to the ground for two months. (It snowed on Boxing Day and stayed till March - usual for England.) So the exact opposite of your problems out on the Prairie ( I just can't tell you how much my sadistic lady schoolteacher would wax lyrical about your combine harvesters and huge crops of wheat and how it couldn't be grown here - I so dearly want to go dig her up and tell her about the massive kit and the Chorleywood Process that allowed bread to be made from homegrown grain.
Another I learnt early - especially as most of our tractors live in open sided storage - check for birds in season! Over here, that's mainly for the good of out little biddy types as I managed to cook a nest of eggs one year and half died of guilt on meeting the parents. Typical for America - where everything is bigger ( eh Zak?) you seemed to have a pterodactyls nesting.

That was one expensive bird nest. Talk about unlucky! Lucky that you had some breeze. That makes a big difference. Thanks to artificial intelligence that they are now working on, in a few years you will probably be able to put on some goggles which will project what you are supposed to do next, or at least give you an image of the machine in various stage of completion. You might be able to talk to it for what image you need to see, going backwards or forward. All the parts for a job will be included in a package when you depart the shop. Drones might bring you additional parts you discover that you need. Flying is much faster than driving. And if the battery on the drone was discharged too much to make it back home, you could just bring it back at the end of the job.
That kind of stuff might be why they say AI will change the world a lot.
One good thing, doing that kind of work, no robot will ever replace you.
