You know what I never noticed until now was that Quentin's life got better since he discovered magic was real, but Julia's life got worse since she discovered magic was real.
@@selinar.7775 There's a difference between committing suicide and being willing to sacrifice yourself. Suicide is about removing yourself from pain. Self sacrifice is about saving others from pain.
Out of everyone, even Alice, even _Eliot_ , I think Julia is definitely the one who was broken the most by Quentin's death. That's her best friend, the boy she's been protecting and loving since they were kids. All of the times she probably saved him from the edge, all of the moments she talked him down, only for him to kill himself in the end. I can only imagine her grief. I don't know how I'd be able to function without my best friend.
and I think it was because their relationship was THAT powerful that she gained magic from him. it’s almost like a final thank you… giving your best friend the one thing they always wanted . but like, I think it’s because quentin was THAT important to her that that pain was enough for the magic to come back
Julia Wicker is the most powerful of the Magicians. She was a Seeker (most powerful of all classes) but now is also a traveler. When Jane reverse time to defeat The beast (aka god killer) they failed 40 times. then jane kicked Julia out of school and told her, her magic was not good enough. She became stronger so strong she lost her humanity. Q grounded her. they needed each other and i wonder how the story would have continued. This was a great show i wish it could have continued. Maybe Penny and their baby ground her. Q and Julia were 2 frequencies fluctuating modulations and amplitudes on a sine wave always coming back to center. when they were In tune they could do anything. Man i miss this how it was awesome.
I love how we see them go through nearly all the stages of a relationship 1) being awkward for years and not saying anything 2)get pissed at them for some reason nearly ending the relationship 3)coming back together because y’all care to much 4)being the best of friends 5)no longer friends but literal family to the point where they understand and love you in a way that no one else does or will That’s what I loved so much about them is that WE saw them go through that....
all of it...the voiceovers, the transitions, the parallels is pefect. And I love how you used it to highlight how much Q and Julia inspired each other and always were there for each other. I'm really happy we got to see them work together as a pair throughout the later seasons and they were amazing. Although I sometimes feel like Quentin doesn't care about Julia as much as she does or at least he doesn't show it as strongly. It's probably because he has Eliot and Alice and Margo and all Julia had was him. But there's still so much meaning in their friendship and you've managed to capture it in this edit and you've made the message even clearer : their ups and downs, highs and lows. I have unending praise for this and the impeccable song choice for this just amazes me even more. This song is beautiful and has been stuck in my head since first watching this so today I went to listen to this song and in the comments someone pointed out that this song was about someone trying to cope with the lost of someone they loved ; someone sitting by their dead body, questioning why they've left them and how are they going to carry on alone. And this realisation hit me really hard beacuse I didn't pay attention to the lyrics before. This exactly describes Q and Julia's situation at the end of season 4. Julia was the last to throw Q's cards in the fire which tells me that she was the most reluctant to let go (that transition from Quentin's first trick to Julia's first since her revertion is godly). Even in season 5 first episode, the first thing she wanted to do was to talk to Quentin but wait he's gone. This show means a lot to me especially Q and Julia's relationship ( margo and eliot's too) and whole bunch of other elements that I wouldn't even know how to begin listing. It's something I would probably never have -- a relationship like that -- so the next best thing is to enjoy it from afar. So thank you so much for making this surreal edit /3 psst: I love your edits for The 100 too!
Julia and Q are fr bestfriends forever until he dies 😞 When everyone left to go do there own things after Q died Julie stays and let’s all her tears out 🥺
This is tangential, because the video is about J and Q, but one of the things I loved loved loved about the TV adaptation is that it explored and developed a relationship between Julia and Alice. In the books, their character arcs never intersect. In this show they have a number of significant interactions. The things they have in common at first are 1) they're both both brilliant and 2) they're both very close to Quentin, albeit in different ways. In fact, in their first face-to-face meeting Julia speaks to Alice THROUGH Quentin; Alice at that point in the show is a Nifin trying to escape the cacodemon tattoo trap on Quentin's back. She's taken temporary control of his body, as per an agreement she forced him to make during the bank robbery. Julia, for her part, has undergone the exorcism that removed not only the God rape baby, but also her connection to her shade. Thus, both Julia and Alice - who was disconnected from her shade in becoming a Nifin - are also behaving like psychopaths, not their normal selves. It was brilliantly done, and I kind of wish there was a record - a transcript, or video - of the story discussions leading to that realization of that story line. Other notable interactions include Julia and Alice collaborating on transferring magic from one to the other (a project that ultimately failed), and Julia discovering Alice made a Quentin golem.
Even though Q remained somewhat depressed. He didn’t necessarily want to commit suicide anymore. Before magic, he didn’t feel like he had a place in the world or that he was needed for anything. After magic, although he knew how shitty it actual was, it gave him purpose and a place. Quentin couldn’t die, because you see in each season he felt like he was needed. He needed to kill the beast, he needed to save Alice, he needed to save Fillory, he needed to save/bring back magic, then he needed to save Eliot. He felt too involved and too responsible. He might’ve struggled with depression in each season but magic did keep him alive and yes he died in the end but it was to sacrifice himself for the ones he loved. Q did question his sacrifice in the end, but I just think that’s because he was always over-analyzing things and doubting himself. Penny 40 had to assure him that it was sacrifice and it saved many lives.
I'm going for the second season I still haven't found the 3 because the prime is not available but the series is very nice I re-hooked but I missed that there is something else between Julia and Quentin I think they love each other too much and do not want to break that friendship with something that such Sometimes it does not work but the truth is that I fell in love with their characters and I hope to get fast season 3
nahhh their love was too profound to just be bound end game romantic feelings. this developed into the unconditional love between individuals that BECAME a family. different from the ties as random as a bloodline link but as powerful as a choice…
Oh my this is the best video of them.. I can stop watching. Please make something new. Quentin was an asshole in the beginning. I didnt understend what Julia had done, to make him angry
So i think the show showed this really well. Both him and Julia where really toxic. But the beginning that your talking about it was a mix of jealousy and pettiness and unresolved problems. Imagine someone telling you your feelings and favorite things where childish and needed to stop. The person telling you this is so perfect and has their life together. Then imagine you find out the thing that they told you to let go of was real~ and then hearing on top of it that the other person wasn't good enough to do it (obviously we know that isn't true but thats how Q saw it). Q had found his place he was finally over being suicidal he was with his people AND he had proved Julia wrong for her constantly telling him to put down the childish books and magic? Now let's add that even though your angry they are in the end still someone you really care about~ that person all their life has been amazing at everything else but when told they cant do this one thing that they had been unintrested in until learning it was real (your gonna be hurt. Because why are they so upset? Is it because they HAVE to be better then you?) But then they self destructing because they failed, but what they failed at is your life its who you are and have always been. Maybe ots best for them that you just... stop being around them. You could only make it worse.. maybe they will drop it if they don't see you again. Maybe they will forget?

If she had go to brakebills she would be like Quentin, but Jane needed to make her stronger and Brakebills was not gonna make her miserable
I mean.. he died, so I don't know how much better his life turned out to be
