The instructions for the clamshell device that attaches to the return line connector state that it reinforces the point where the flexible fuel line connects to the connector. It doesn't say anything about keeping the connector from disconnecting from the fuel filter

I found that the clam shell clamp is a problem taking the line off.

I got a question, what does the return line with the red clip do that is the small line on the filter on top the engine?

lol just let all the fuel drain out before you remove the lower filter

I've heard every 5-7k miles but that was on a 6.0 powerstroke. So.. Maybe it's gotten better and you can not worry about it as bad.

JMcc. Exactly!! All these shops wanna just take your money with fear information. Read your dealer manual.

Does the fuel tank have to be at a certain level before you do the lower filter. I try to drain it but it would not stop draining in the bucket. Thanks

@@CaliMotoTV no. I just talked to a mechanic and he said that when you drop the case that hold the lower filter that it will stop the flow from the tank and so all the fuel that come out is in that container. If that makes sense

@@jackdooley1436 I had the same thing happen. I turned the yellow plug back after 3 gallons drained into the bucket. I did the engine filter first so maybe there wasn’t a vacuum created in the lines to stop it. Have you tried again?

@@mark224466 i made it work. I talked to a ford diesel tech and what I did is just loosen the bolts to where they are loose and then lower the whole bottom down. There was maybe 1/4 of a gallon of diesel that was in the bucket at the end of it. There was no rush of diesel going down my arm. It was pretty easy
