Great video, It brought back nice memories of the same walk we did when visiting Burnham-on-Sea from New Zealand back in 2013.

Second highest tidal range in the world Bristol Channel and the Severn estuary only the Bay of Fundy in Canada beats it.

You are lucky. I was born there in 1957 and lived there for 20 years before moving abroad. The best years of my life. As children we used to walk to the pier to watch the storms of the Spring Equinox before putting a few pennies in the machines. Times were simpler then but great fun.

@@NachoozLucas Its all in the mind. I am 65 years young. I remember as teenagers we used to "borrow" our dads car and go onto the beach. Depending on the tide you could sometimes get as far as Brean Down but we were always lucky not to get stuck in the mud. You are right to comment that the tide goes out very far because the beach is so flat but I do remember the odd occasion when it came in and over the Esplanade.

@@unclekevin5094 This is a place where we are considering moving to at some point. Please tell me the pros and cons as you see it. Is the sea really that far out all the time? Are there seafood restaurants with sea views? Is there a KFC? (haha). Is there a lighthouse? Is there a lot of (violent) crime? Any info would be appreciated!

@@thetruthbetold961 I moved away in 1978 so any information I can give will be well out of date. I know that Somerset is a beautiful county with much history and many places to visit with good access to Devon and Cornwall if you like the countryside but if you are looking for big city socializing then I feel that Taunton, Bridgewater, Weston super mere and Bristol might disappoint although London is really only 2 hours away by car or train. I imagine that crime and poverty are no better or worse than anywhere else although the further West you travel from London the less problems you have with population density. There are two lighthouses. One is one the beach on legs and is a historical monument and the other is a traditional round tower in Berrow which was 10 meters from being in our back garden and which I used to watch the light going round at night. The tide comes in and out twice a day and when it is out it is mile out because the land is so flat. However in the summertime when it comes in it is warmed by the large area of "mud" it has passed over and although murky because of this is good to swim in.It also has the second highest Spring Equinox in the world and this is spectacular to watch if there is a high wind as the waves break over the sea front. By contrast the sand on the beaches is the best I have ever seen and i have been to many seaside towns. It is fantastic for people with young children. As far as things such as schools, hospitals, social services etc go i am sure that it is no better or worse than anywhere else. I had the best childhood there that can be imagined but these days anyone who was born 65 years ago probably feel the same. Good luck.
