A fond me 80's. mory of watching this man on TV back in the late 70's and early 80's. I have been doing magic and juggling full time since 1990 and he was the original inspiration. I even got to see him in 1986. I believe he stopped performing shortly thereafter. RIP Doug Henning. You remain supreme in my mind and thank you for all you did to make the world a better place.
I've been doing close-up for over 60 years. Doug Henning was one of my two favorite magi along with Harry Anderson. Both these magicians contributed so much to the art. I've met so many wonderful people who are interested in magic. Peace and love to all from S. Oregon.
Doug Henning will always be my all time favorite magician . Best tv specials as a kid . And even better seeing him live on stage when he’d come to town .
I didn't get into magic till 10 years after Doug Henning left magic. Secrets are great to know but when someone as talented as Henning does a trick, secrets make no difference. He was so good that even when you know the secrets, he still fools you. RIP, Little Man.
I got a chance to meet Doug in Chicago when he was planning to make a comeback! And I'm telling you he was the nicest guy ever he was like a hippy, really cool down to earth guy!
In 1988 at a Barbara DeAngelis "Making Love Work" presentation in Los Angeles, Barbara spoke candidly about her first husband. Her recollection of his illusions and of his character was particularly fascinating.
Countin’ flowers on the wall That don’t bother me at all playin’ solitaire ‘til dawn with a deck of 51 Smokin’ cigarettes and watchin’ Captain Kangaroo Now don’t tell me, I’ve nothin’ to do.

That torn & restored paper: elegant method and beautiful presentation.
Tom Mullica had a word on that effect, on The World's Greatest Magic. Beautifully presented by both.
I remember watching World of Magic with my grandma and grandpa back in the 80's. Such a special time.
Was your grandpa named Jim?
I remember watching Doug Henning as a young kid in the early 80's. He seemed like a nice guy.
Yes he was.

I am so grateful that I got to meet Doug backstage twice. One of the times he bought a big beautiful painting for Debbie.
Who is Debbie?
Duh Debbie is Debbie
You don't know Debbie?
@@kenhammscousin4716 Everybody knows Debbie.
Well, the Rubik Cube has undoubtedly stood the magic test of time.
This dude's a disco magician.
Cool music on the last set.. really interesting ancient time the 70s were
He was an incredible magician 👍😊👍😊👍
Wow, Doug seems like he was a great guy to be around

Doug Henning IS the magic......
Doug had incredible 70's hair
Nice show; cool and cute persona. :D
That little boy was like, yeahhhhhh can I go home and play some Commodore?
Little did he know, at 4:26 Doug had selected little David...COPPERFIELD from the audience!
Umm... no.
The following year, the Empire Strikes Back will hit theaters across the world. That's real magic.
(Cool disco version of Blue Danube, though)
What's the music call with the ball in cup?
The kids are like "Your a FING wizard aren't you?"
The kids at the beginning look familiar, I could be very wrong, but they look like kid actors from some movie back then. Like I said could be wrong.
1:10 the kid being held hostage needs help, he couldn’t even blink to signal his distress
It's not even magic... It's like illusion ballet.
wow...kid looked impressed at 1:30
Back when the presentation was *waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay* more melodramatic.
Tricks still hold up though.
Chris Angel isn't melodramatic?
@@SLYGARR All right you got me there. 😅
Doug Henning was David Copperfield before David Copperfield was David Copperfield!
Okay 13:31....this was good
Countin’ flowers on the wall
That don’t bother me at all
playin’ solitaire ‘til dawn with a deck of 51
Smokin’ cigarettes and watchin’ Captain Kangaroo
Now don’t tell me, I’ve nothin’ to do.
I can do that but I don't wanna
THANK YOU!
Would like to know why someone down voted this? Is it because there was no downvotes and they had to put one?
