    There's an option in training mode that highlights your character red during special cancel frames, and blue during super cancel frames. This really should have been included in the video.

  • @gustavofernandes7814

    9:45 fucking this!!! the frame meter made it so easy and so much more fun to learn frame data. I've been aware of it for a long time, but i never used it to learn chaaracters the way i do with this game.
    For example, i was trying to figure out what to do after Chun's EX leg, which gives me 29 F advantage, then by just looking at certain moves frame data and active frames i could figure out something to do, which is dash (19f) and 4HP(8F starter, 6 active frames)
    Surely you could figure this out by just experimenting, but it felt so much more fun to do it this way. It felt like i was using my tiny little brain.

    First three I mained aka JP, Juri and Ken were characters I was already interested in + the latter two I tried in the demo alongside Jamie. Marisa is another character I'm interested in too but am still working on her (somehow better at JP than Marisa lol. Then with Dhalsim and Zangief, the former seemed kinda fun + his trial modes were fun, and the latter is admittedly fun which is bizarre cuz I've never liked Gief as a character and I still don't but idk. Literally attempted placement ranks with him as a joke and instantly got Gold 3 which baffled me

    any tips on finding a happy medium between canceling as soon as possible and mashing the next input to make it happen? 😂
    for instance: wanting to do 214 motions in your combo but mashing it out brings the super instead.

      Nobody really responded so I guess my amateur take would just be practice. Get comfortable with the timing, it's the only real solution. The mashing happens because you haven't found the rhythm of the combo so to speak.

    I’ve been a diehard Juri main since SFIV but I’ve really been enjoying Chun in this game. It’s taking a bit to get used to her but it’ll happen.

    You taught so much in so little time! Most of the info is sticking, but one thing: You tell us to cancel into a move... But you don't actually say what canceling is, or how to do it!

    • @ArtlessIb
      @ArtlessIb ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You probably do it without realising. It's when you interrupt one move with another. Every move has the following frame structure. Startup (fist moves towards opponent) Active (fist hits opponent), Recovery (fist returns to starting position). You can skip or 'cancel' the recovery frames of certain moves by inputting a special move before the first one has ended, and thats how cancel combos work.

    It really amazes me how players can use more than 2 characters in fighting games, every time I try to learn a third character it feels like my brain is deleting what I learned from the first character lol

      Believe it or not, it’s all kind of the same. There are fundamentals. Medium usually goes into another medium. Medium on counterhit tends to be able to go into heavy. Lights usually go into lights. There are universal rules across SF games.
