I’ve been into period dramas and Donghuas/c/k/j-dramas lately so this is immediately going on my watch list, their clothing is just so beautiful and I’m expecting to see at least some inner palace drama on the side 😗

ever since I stumbled over kusuriya no hitorigoto I was looking for another historical story thats more then just some naive girly romance where non of the circumstances really matter. the inner palace is socialy and politicly so interesting and barely anyone does anything properly with it. This looks so intriguing!

It looks beautiful tbh. I'm wondering if it'll gain some more popularity, it feels like one that isn't talked about that much, like 'Ascendance of a bookworm' where it's there and somewhat known about but is sorta in the background. I'm just waiting for 'The Apothecary Diaries' to get an anime now...unless that's been announced already lol

I'm very confused, I get that she sees spirits and things but most of this is about her sending the spirit of a bird to its previous owner who's also dead? uuuh....

@@cheezarose To be fair, most trailers make at least a semblance of sense, or they go out of their way to spoil everything, it's one or the other. This doesn't seem to do either.
It explains her ability to see into the spirit realm, and it explains that she's trying to send a dead Bird's Soul off to its previous owner, but not much else than that. There seems to be a lot of political intrigue around her, and a lot of people want to meet her for various, I don't know readings of some sort? But the trailer does seem a bit messy overall.
@@MizuMing I only know the synopsis but maybe revealing more than that would reveal the plot. This is how a trailer should be, intriguing without revealing much. Blockbuster movie trailers have ruined trailer expectations for people. A trailer should not reveal anything but make you curious about the story and that's what this does.

What a hidden gem of a period drama anime! I loved the chinese shadow puppet interpretation, the art did bother me with how slender they drew the females but the voice actors, the story and the character development makes this such a beautiful anime-- im dying for a season 2!!!

Apparently this was originally a Japanese light novel, but the setting is in ancient China. The studio for this anime adaptation is also Japanese.
