This level crossing is located on the Gippsland line, right after the Metro terminus of Pakenham. DMU's pass through this crossing towards Nar Nar Goon, and suburban EMU's pass through this crossing to shunt out to the newly constructed Pakenham East Depot and Sidings.
As of the time of publishing, work is underway and nearing completion on grade separation at this level crossing, along with 2 other level crossings nearby, being Main St and McGregor Rd, Pakenham; and a new Pakenham station.
    The crossing equipment includes:
    - Westinghouse LED Lights
    - Westinghouse Crossarms
    - 1 Westinghouse 2nd Gen Hybrid M-Bell
    - 1 General Signals Type 3 E-Bell
    - Safetran Boom Gate mechanisms
    - 1 WCH Base and 3 Unmarked Bases
As of publishing, this crossing has been listed as one of the level crossings to be removed by the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), and is in the middle of grade seperation. Trains are set to run overhead in an elevated rail corridor over McGregor Rd, Main St, and Racecourse Rd. This project includes a new Pakenham Station, and a short electrification extension to a newly built Pakenham East Station. This is planned to be finished by this year (2024).

Great video! The hybrid still sounds very good. I haven't been able to film this one because there's always so much traffic. I'm glad somebody got good footage before it was removed

Thanks! I was planning to go take a bit more footage, but I didn’t realise it was too late because there’s Coach replacements for the Gippsland line, but these clips will do I guess.
Although thinking about it now, Metro probably still uses the crossing for stabling trains at East Pakenham during the off-peak periods
Also I definitely agree with you in that the road is really busy, the times I was there the traffic would be going by nonstop for a good 5-10 minutes or so 😅

Awesome video. Won’t be long now until it’s gone for good. Hopefully we’ll get to see some more N Class before they’re gone too 😢

Actually I'm pretty sure the crossing equipment would've been removed just 2 days ago on Monday, as trains are being replaced by buses until Pakenham opens.
It'll be cool to see the N Classes on the new Skyrail, but yeah it will be sad once N Classes stop running revenue services
