Using Subtitle Regions Once multiple regions are created, you can treat the subtitle track like a separate mini-timeline with four layers. Each subtitle region has its own Captions list and Style settings, including font choice, and most importantly, text position. This allows you to set up, say, the default region as your normal subtitle layout, Region 2 for characters on the left hand side of the screen, and Region 3 for characters on the right. When more than one region overlaps each other in the subtitle track, all subtitles at that position will be visible. You can move a caption from region to region by dragging the subtitle clip up or down inside the subtitle track.

Great question Hound Dog, so it's a combination of CPL (characters per line), font thickness (thicker = less characters available per line), and character size (bigger character = less characters). What I do, is I put my template text+ on the timeline, run my fingers across the number track on my keyboard until I get to the max acceptable length. So it'd look something like... 1234567890123456789012345678 (that's 28). And generally speaking, 28 has been a normal amount of characters for a line. It's usually what I start with.

Can you do or link me to a video on where you make the current word a colour so it's highlighted I feel that is really cool and I am unsure of how to do that now.
Unfortunately that's not exactly possible as of this moment. We don't have word by word accurate animation ability at the moment. But I've been working tirelessly for months to make that possible. Hopefully nearly there.
Nice to know you are working on it! Are people just doing it manually at the moment? The stuff you are doing makes life of someone like me just doing something small so much easier. You are very much an absolute legend.@@TheOrsonLord
I have an idea for snap captions, is it possible to have the caption generation happen on a specific track? Often times as I am running through a project I will add snap captions one scene at a time. It ends up just spawning a track above each time. A small thing sure but It would be a nice QoL improvement
Can you add a link to your snap captions fonts pack in the description? Looked like you had some stuff available to buy I'd love to add more fonts even if I can do it myself buying a pack of them really helps make things easier while throwing some money your way!

this is cool but you literally have no trouble shooting support for the issue of (No "Snap Captions" Bin Found) anywhere. I've installed the plugin and opened the DRP file but nothing shows up in my project. just the error mention in parentheses. I feel like the installation tutorial is missing a step or a "what to do if" section. I'm excited to use this but if I can't get it to show up in resolve properly it's useless.

Not only does it ignore muted tracks, but it ALSO ignores any audio tracks layers above the bottom layer. Which is actually annoying, but something to keep in mind.

Done, Great idea! thanks for looking out for me! (
Power Bins were the missing piece to using Snap Captions without tearing my hair out trying to figure out why my templates weren't saving!
Yeah, it's less than intuitive looking back at this in hindsight, but once the process is picked up, it's way faster than other solutions :)

It ignores any tracks above the bottom layer? Can you explain further?
When you use the layered audio editing features, if you have any audio clips in a layer above the base it won't be captioned.@@TheOrsonLord
