It happens here in Texas sometime. I've rented a beach house on Quintana Beach and met a guy at the beach house turned bar that took me flounder fishing the next morning. Went down with my exwife to spend the evening fishing at the Trinity River and met a grandfather, son, and grandson camping under the bridge. They took us in their boat running trotlines, fed us stew, and gave us the master bedroom in their 5th wheel camper to stay the night.
I used to work on cruise ships and those boats are super durable. They are meticulously maintained onboard and ready to be deployed and in the water within minutes. They were launched often to make sure they were always running correctly and the sailors hosed the salt off daily. I've seen them handle big rough waves during rescues. Not a new boat video without it dying at least once! However it’s awesome to see how far you have come AYO. From pulling abandoned boats out of the woods with trees growing in them infested with spiders and god knows what else with the ol step side to driving over 10 hours to get a clean, running, not abandoned boat. Happy for you.
Since you have the big frame in the back, might be cool to see what kind of shelter you could make/sew to button on and do an overnighter in it. Plenty of open space, you could probably sleep one per side and still have plenty of room. The other option is, with that kind of power, see what kind of floating shelter you could tow around with it and use it as a runabout once you dock your shelter somewhere.
Minion is a gem. Definitely keep'er I say work out the issue, get an inflatable dock and big tent, portable fire pit (No Gas, W/wood to put under it), and rod and reels,. Tow said dock and gear out to a new and awesome location, and camp out for 2 or 3 days, while doing a real catch and cook. Very little provisions. No Pizza! You can tow the dock somewhere and leave it on the hook (anchor), and then you can go out exploring and fishing with the Minion, and return t base camp. That would be dope!
Great video! It's really nice to see people being so friendly and kind. I'm glad you had Smalls and Gravy meet for the maiden voyage at home. The three of you sitting banana boat style was hilarious!

Ayo, check the fuel filters, and the tank/tanks. usually diesel gets contaminated with water and will clog the filters and will cause that exact issue. Should be a quick simple CHEAP fix! It should (Should) key word look similar to an oil filter! Hope this finds you and hope it helps! Sweet boat!
As I commented in an old video of yours- So long as the camera is on and y'all are filming videos then anything that happens is ALL GOOD, because even when things go belly up it just makes for great content.
9:24 sounds like how I ended up hunting Black Tail last month. Headed out to buy a vintage rifle, got introduced to a bunch of hunters and enthusiasts that I hadn't met before (they all knew who I was though😂). Bunch of hours later, we all ended up at a new friends cabin following trail to some late season bucks.
Always always always change the fuel filters.....diesels need unrestricted fuel to run at top revs. While you are examining the old fuel filters look for algae..black stringy gunge...which might be growing in your fuel tanks (at the air/fuel/water interface. Clean the tanks out as best possible BEFORE you try biocides..otherwise you'll be going through a lot of replacement fuel filters. Carry spare fuel filters on board in sealed plastic bags...4x extra should do... and if there is no water bowl on at least one of the fuel filters (you should be running two in tandem anyway)...do fit a water bowl to the first one..and make sure it has a valve on the bowl so you can drain it off.... Fit a small 12VDC Facet style clicky clacky in line fuel pump on the exit line of the fuel tank so you can push fuel through really quickly, refilling and bleeding the filters in seconds... and this pump will also push fuel through to the injection pump and to the injectors... bleeding is a cinch then. Use it as a primer at every start...reduces wear on your lift pump..and can of course be used as a lift pump if that breaks down. Plus if you can't get revs in an emergency....you can boost fuel flow temporarily with this pump.
I have always liked Ayo's videos but I have to admit, this is the best one in awhile. That is one bad a$$ boat! Cant wait to see what you do with it! If you paint it might I suggest maybe a "Flying Tigers" motief? Shark teeth and eyes on the front would be so cool!
Fuel for sure, no biggie. Might of stirred up some sediment in the fuel tank. Change your fuel filters, keep a few spare. Check your fuel connections, might be pulling in air. It will be something simple, no sweat boyz
Hey Ayo, nice buy! Ive worked for Norsafe which is the manufacturer of this Merlin FRC... These Steyr engines are really good if well maintained. Never ever neglect the fuel system cause the injectors are way sensitive (and expensive). Filters and separators needs to be changed regularly and fuel and tank always be kept clean. Great boat, I love the diesel engines. As long as you take care of those engines it should last you a few thousand hours. Let us know what the problem is with the motor. I can’t wait for you guys to start catching fish on it. It is a beauty.

I think it’s freakin awesome! Just need to get rid of all the yellow out. You could do a cool wrap or heck paint it camo and it would make a world of difference. You also need to come up with some different seating options. Maybe do a leaning post seats like a center console would have, you can even get those with a live well built in. Anywho you got something with some major potential if you choose to do something with it, I love it!
I've had boats my whole life and live on the great lakes .. that's an awesome boat .. just use the base of the saddle seat and fab some side by side seats .. great boat ..
Well…. You have once again outdone yourself Ayo. This is sick. Sounds like an awesome boat to have. I’m excited for the content to come with this vessel 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Man I love these videos because I just know we could hang and have a great time and you do such a great job of making all of us feel included. If you ever want to experience Oklahoma crappie fishing in the spring, it's crazy, I'd love to have you and gravy out and just slay 'em.
Bro that thing is sweeeeet. The best part was the three of you in the closing scene you NEED to get that into a pic and frame it. You can tell you all care for each other.
AYO I absolutely love the new boat for sure buddy!!! I’d definitely love to see a good tune up on it and getting it in tip top running condition and then take it out and do an awesome catch clean cook video on the boat or even at a deserted island and then do some skiing/née bording on the way back home and heck maybe even some tubing and see who can stay on the longest and at who can stay on at the fastest that the boat can go??? Seeing what the top speed of the boat would also be interesting to know for sure also??? Awesome video buddy and looking forward to seeing more on your new vessel!!!!
I was a vessel safety inspector in the USCG and would do the certification inspections on these. I thought it would be a kick to own one of these. The boat was intended to be a quick person recovery boat with a crew of 3. Most recovery’s took no more then 30 min max so no need for a comfortable seat. This type of seat was built for large seas. Believe me you don’t want to sit in those conditions unless you want to destroy your back. Just hold on to the safety strap and flex your knees. Warning if you find yourself in a squall and big seas don’t hold on to the person at the helm. You could pull him off the helm, and the ride would would be a bit more exciting if not deadly. This boat technically will not wright it’s self but will be less likely to ride in a capsized position and depending on the sea state will come back to an upright position. Also Keep it out of the surf in a bar. Looking forward to see what you do with it. Let me know if you have any other handling questions. I have had 20 plus years as a heavy weather coxswain in the Coast Guard. Be safe and make good decisions.
I'm glad you had a good time in my city! Most folks are like that here. I def want to see more of this boat! I'm thinking there is a fuel delivery issue.
I used to work on cruise ships as an engineer , this is an “frc” fast rescue craft we had a slightly larger one with a 250 yanmar engine in it and it could happly handle 3 or 4 people but it would significantly reduce speed the more people you put in it. Try going out on your own to see if that’s the case, weight = more drag
Andrew, what a great year. I have watched you since you started your channel and I am glad you have been doing so well. I hope all your dreams and wishes come true in 2025.
Simple but very cool! Awesome you got to meet those people go gigging and really hangout with the neighborhood! Very cool video even if it was short video that was pretty wholesome to stay and hangout
If you want a jet boat ride, Shotover Jets, Queenstown New Zealand, twin V8s running on LPG which burble and cough at idle but purr like a race car when they hit the peddle!
As a 6th generation Texan I can agree we have some of the friendliest and nicest folks in Texas. That’s a killer boat, with a lot of possibilities. It would be cool if you could somehow mount a center console boat seat for the driver, but with the way it’s designed I’m not sure if that could be done.
Another stellar video, waking up in an FB strangers house is the craziest thing lol.. man putting a trolling motor on that thing would make an awesome fishing platform, definitely want to see more of it. Also, it seems like a fuel issue, I'd start with basics, filters, etc, and go from there.
I would investigate the fuel lines from the tank pickup to the engine, especially any filters. Since it ran well when you tested it, that's what I think the problem may be. Good luck. Nice boat!
Speakers on the back rack(roll cage). Cushions in the back steps behind the captains banana. The seat needs to be yellow with black lines(make it look like a banana). Turbo that motor if you can make it breathe. Slap some rod holders on there. Paint it to match that big ol safety boat.
I love when the universe puts like minded people together, I visited Galveston for 3 nights in February before a cruise and I can agree, the people are awesome! Jason, send the addy I wanna fish! 😂
You have to take the boat for a spin with Davey or Smalls and have them hold on tight like Dumb and Dumber. If you wanted since that hood unbolts down the road you could put a Mercury 8.2L 430 hp in there. They also sell a 6.7L 550hp diesel.
Cool people and cool boat. I'm thinking that the drive back to Georgia, might have stirred up sediment in the fuel tank. Drain the tank, clean it and new filters. Hopefully she will pick back up.
Puch /Daimler/Steyr is one of the oldest Austrian Manufacturers and yes they are tough engines ...keep her diesel just clean the fuel lines swap the filters check the cable linkages for binding or slippage. Your range and fuel efficiency will be better and no ignition electrics to mess up . Shes starting so its a throttle or fuel restriction .. Just got to learn whats what and where to check. The other thing is your safer round swimers and Marine animals like Manitee and dolphins and turtles. Get her running right and you can probably wake board and ski behind it... And it will act as recovery/tug boat for others. ..its geared for rescue and carrying 6.
Hell yeah do something to it bub! Take that buoy off the top and turn that into a fishing stand!! It’d be perfect for shallow waters with that jet prop…
We had an old Military Bridge Erection Boat. All aluminum with twin turbo diesels, and jet drive. There’s very little you can is probably wrong with that motor since it has to be maintained constantly.
That was an awesome video, what hospitality from Texas haha. That was really cool of them guys. You don't see that too often these days. Cool little boat too.
Andrew dude I’m also from Georgia your awesome dude check for one of y’all’s videos everyday after work love the boat man looking forward to more videos!

Blew my mind, hopefully I can go fish with Justin and the guys again one day.
@@AYOFishing I’m sure you will! Maybe you could invite Justin to your neck of the woods and do a video with the new boat!

You need to fish the rivers and streams with that thang.

Loved the video brother, you put on for us GA boys. We NEED more videos with you and Lojo together again. Much love brother, God bless.
Justin and Co are cool people! Im glad you gotnto live and hang with new bros.
Simple but very cool! Awesome you got to meet those people go gigging and really hangout with the neighborhood! Very cool video even if it was short video that was pretty wholesome to stay and hangout
Neatest rescue boat I've seen. Like the layout and effectiveness. seems safe and reliable. good find!
Dude, i could totally turn that into a dulsin bost for the tidal passages around grand manan or wrinkle dragger!! Love it!!
Another stellar video, waking up in an FB strangers house is the craziest thing lol.. man putting a trolling motor on that thing would make an awesome fishing platform, definitely want to see more of it. Also, it seems like a fuel issue, I'd start with basics, filters, etc, and go from there.
My Dawg Ayo always finding the coolest boats!!! ready to see what that turbo diesel can do!
That’s sweet! I’m from Houston and saw this on Facebook!!! Crazy you got it!
Galveston right? Pretty sure I've seen this on the way to the beach we go to....
Lol, guess I could have watched the rest of the episode before commenting. 😂
@@dadsquatch79 haha yeah! Is it the same one you saw??
I love when the universe puts like minded people together, I visited Galveston for 3 nights in February before a cruise and I can agree, the people are awesome! Jason, send the addy I wanna fish! 😂
That is such a cool boat. Andrew you ROCK My man. And both Justin and Randy were absolutely sweet guys. You GOT the TEXAS version of hospitality ❤❤
Just when I think you can't come up with another unusual water craft, you prove me wrong again! I love this thing!
Justin turns me always into good mood .. feels like be a part of his nice world that seems to be still in order 😊
You have to take the boat for a spin with Davey or Smalls and have them hold on tight like Dumb and Dumber. If you wanted since that hood unbolts down the road you could put a Mercury 8.2L 430 hp in there. They also sell a 6.7L 550hp diesel.
LOL I guess I spoke too soon. That's some great spooning there.
How is this man not at a mil subs yet?! One of the best out there w/ fishing related content, and buying random boats lol
This was so cool. So happy for you brother. You look so happy and at home in your excitement. 🤘
Love the boat. Good score. Trip looked awesome. Keep it simple and toss in a couple folding or inflatable beach chairs.
I sent that post to jiggin with Jordan lol glad you picked it up cant wait to see the content you come up with with the purchase
That was an awesome video, what hospitality from Texas haha. That was really cool of them guys. You don't see that too often these days. Cool little boat too.
Love it Andrew, definitely have to have "Davey Gravy" Christen the new "Toy"
Welcome to Texas, glad to see they showed you a good time!
After you get the filters and fuel straightened out.
It look like it would be a cool parasailing rig !
Andrew dude I’m also from Georgia your awesome dude check for one of y’all’s videos everyday after work love the boat man looking forward to more videos!
that boat is awesome please do some more videos with it! great video
@AYOFishing One of my top YT channels to watch. 1mil subs soon bro. Respect from England
You were right near my house when you came to pick up that boat. Crazy. Glad you had a good time down here and they showed you around the water.
