50L is way to go. Especially when together with side panniers. In 50L box you can easily put a 15" laptop bag plus some other stuff on top. 39Liter is just a lockable helmet storage box.
@@venax2 after your video I think I will go for the 50l. It would be big enough for weekend of clothes etc. Have my bike test in Jan and then will do an overnight once the weather picks up. Am in ireland so not so cold but a fair bit of rain.. thanks again for the vids
I much prefer the smaller one as the larger one puts too much weight in the wrong place. I only fitted the smaller one for the pillion to feel safer with. Frosty
Hey man, I just bought a used Tracer 700 2020 in the same colour as you. Came with the Weekend pack (soft panniers) but now I want to mount a rear rack. Do you think there would be any interference?
Hi, I am not sure. If U have OEM side panniers, there is no problem to add OEM top case. I think you need holder of top case. But have a look into aftermarket installation manulals (Givi, Shad, SW)
Shad or Givi is half of Yamaha price. Only "big" advantage of Yamaha bags is 1 common key for everything. I personaly would prefer Shad or Givi or some other aftermarket option. (beacause of price) But this is my personal opinion. :-)
Hi, I'm really interested by the 50L. How do you unlock it from the rack ? Do you have to use the key ? Doesn't that open the top case at the same time or is there a push button for each things (one for opening the case and one for releasing the whole case from the support) ? Thanks !!
Hi, the advantage of original Yamaha accesorries is that you can buy lock set, which will allow you use the same key you have for ignition. There are 3 positions of key. 1 - unlock case, 2 - unlock rack, 3 - lock all.
@@venax2 That's nice of you. You were my only hope of finding those answers. It's quite amazing for the lock set, I didn't know and that's a huge advantage over third parties. I hate having too much keys. I've asked Givi and they don't offer that options for the keys. You've sold me the Yamaha top case =D. I have one last question, are those top-case Waterproof ?
@@tempofugo168 Hi, yes, these Yamaha top cases are waterproof (I think also from thirth parties). I rode more times in huge rain and inner content remains dry. The one key is big advanage of Yamaha boxes. You just need to buy this key set (I did not install by my own, Yamaha dealer made this for me.)
@@venax2 After some research, it seems the key set is only available for some bike and mine isn't included (mt07 2021)... Too bad, but I'll still take the Yamaha top case because as far as I'm aware it's the only one that doesn't need me drilling holes =P. Thanks for all your information mate. Take care on the road.
Zdravím, Dskujem za super vide, pomohlo mi pri rozhodovaní či 39 alebo 50L od Yamahy. Nejaký kontakt na vás? Rad by som sa spýtal na par veci ak môžem. 🙂

Fully agree! 50L is better choice.
Hi guys from Crete! I own exactly the same bike and l recomend the big one, 50 lit. It takes two full face helmets.
Thanks for the videos!
Very nice video! Thanks for sharing! Was it hard to install the carrier itself?
Hi Sergey, I did not install by my own, but I believe I can manage it with service manual.
Thanks so much for this. I am looking for a top case for my tracer 7 2021 this helps alot.
Happy to hear that! Will U got to 50L?

Contacted Yamaha and they said there were no issues with the original carrier. Mounted them over the weekend and it works well.@@venax2
nice ! but i was expecting tracer 9 in video !!!! did you jump back to tracer 7 ?
Hi Bablu, dont worry Tracer 9 video will come as well. Now I have still some video material I want to process. Take care, Vaclav

Is the 50L too big for Kane splitting with?
sorry, I do not know what you mean with Kane?
@@venax2 lane splitting*

Awesome video - thanks so much for making it 🤙
