Very Rusty Antique Blowtorch - Restoration ASMR

- Hello everybody!🖐 @TheRestorer is with you again.🔥😎
In this video I want to show you the full restoration of a very old and rusty blowtorch. This soldering lamp is ancient, damaged over time but very beautiful. She is probably more than 100 years old. Made of brass and steel. The dimensions of this antique blowtorch are not very large. Such blowtorches were once used in jewelry production and by craftsmen for delicate and precise work. Perhaps the owner of this blowtorch was a jeweler. It came to me in critical condition, all oxidized and rusted. I still decided to completely restore and repair it, although I was not sure that it would work. The restoration took a lot of time and effort. As a result, my efforts were not in vain and I succeeded. On the surface there is an inscription "TALISMAN" and "105Р", if you know what it is, please write it in the comments. Also, if you know more information about this product, write too, I will be interested to learn more.
I hope you liked the result✨ of the restoration.🙂

did you say "ASMR"?
Just at -> 0:14 "ASMR" -> (for deaf people)!
Thats what you "forgot" to mention
From doing just a little research on the Internet, I was able to find out that Talisman Blowtorches were manufactured in West Germany in the 1920s. Indeed it is very rare. Great job on the restore!
Thank you very much!)👍😉
Thanks for the additional information
West Germany wasn't established until after World War II so I would have said Wemiar Germany.
@robertriley4732 I am using the exact wording on what I found. If you find exception with it, know that I know next to nothing about European history now that I am in my 50s
The "105P" could be the price then, yes?
As brass doesn't rust your ability to put a coat of rust on a brass object has to be commended, a video showing how you achieve it would be interesting.
How are you so surebit brass??
@@bellaagnes8070 I can see it's brass? it's brass coloured, they're all made from brass, I own one.
I think that this rust came from the metal parts of the blowtorch and the place where it lay for years + brass over time gets covered with patina and oxidizes...
the blowtorch is not all made of brass, there is still steel that rusts
@@TheRestorer Not enough to cover it like this.
First time I've seen brass rust
Rust formed from steel elements that are on the blowtorch. Brass oxidizes and becomes covered with patina
It is a fake restoration as usual.
Hard work of weathering made by the author.
Everything is rusty or corroded looking, yet the the little needle valve is in perfect shape. Yeah, right !
How beautiful were things in the past.
That's true
👍😉
More beautiful then the things nowadays
Yes,nostalgia is not what it used to be.
В конце непонятно, как зажигалось пламя, такое ощущение что сняли часть горелки и вставили туда газовый балончик с автоподжигом, не показывая всю горелку,.
5 баллов за все видео , концовка забрала остальные 5
I can't go to sleep without watching a restoration video from you❤ it calms my soul and brings good vibes plus I learn a lot. Thx for not talking or adding any music!!! This is exactly what I need🙏🏻 100/10
Thank you!👍😉
You did a great work. It looks real good after renovation 👏👏
Thanks!👍😉
Nice refurbishing effort I'd say. And it even works great too. Looks like there is a fine line between a blow torch and a flame thrower. A lot of similarities... Thumbs Up!
Thank you very much!)👍😉💥💨
Beautiful job! I learned to strip paint with one of those. Yours looks a lot more fancier than the one I used.

This guy has given my insomnia a run for it’s money. These restorations are so relaxing and satisfying, I fall asleep with only 1-2 videos. Plus, the ASMR and the lack of annoying voiceovers has made this channel one of my favorites on TH-cam. Keep up the amazing work
Thank you very much!)👍😉
I have watched 3 of your viedos they are so awsome. I have known that things can be restored. Howevery I never knew how much work goes into restoring something. That is crazy amazing you can take something that looks so bad, clean it and then remember where all the parts go to put it bach together. I rate you a 10 + Please keep up the beautiful, amazing restoration.
Thank you very much for your support! Where are you watching from?🌍😉
10. Another delightful and relaxing restoration. Have you ever come across a railroad lantern. Three generations of railroaders in my family 0:51
Hello! Thanks for the idea. In the future, I plan to restore an old railway lamp.
Where are you watching from?🌍😉
San Francisco. Railroad watches and clocks are too expensive. Old signs are good. Shovels or other tools (from any industry)
Watching at 1.5 speed is perfect for the content. Say for weird accelerated sounds, it feels like the original speed of a normal video.
Cool👍😉
Have a nice viewing🥤🍿😎
10! No doubt!!!
Thanks!😉👍
Does anyone else think there's something missing from the handle assembly, I don't think the squared shaft should stick out of the black handle that far. Anyone got any thoughts?
Yes, I was surprised too

Great job. Love seeing old tools being given new life.

Ох уж эти диванные реставраторы :)))
🤔?
fascinante
Looks like a hoax. Acid bath on a item would give you that rust effects I see. Funny there is rust on the brass parts and everything comes apart like nothing.
The rust probably moved from the metal parts. Brass does not rust, but oxidizes
10!
Thanks!😉👍
That’s a nice dental composite spatula/sculpting instrument you’re initially using
Yes, similar to dental. But it is restorative. Where are you watching from?🌍😉
Since when does brass rust ? 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
The brass itself is oxidized and covered with patina. And the rust has moved from the steel parts

Pretty sure the end where it was shown to work is fake, can't see the whole torch when it's working, looks like a working blowtorch stuck through the tip to fake it working.

Did you use rubber for the plunger seal?
Hello! So that gasoline does not evaporate. So what?

Rust on brass 🤔🤔🤔
It's not exactly rust. Brass oxidizes and does not rust. Where are you watching from?🌍😉
😴
This list was clearly made by someone who has not watched the show. Twisty at 2? Guy is in the show for like 5 seconds
Something I didn't understand you)
Not a bad video, but I'm really disappointed by the lack of understanding when it comes to final assembly and testing. You can't use rubber gaskets on these, they degrade very quickly when exposed to the fuel. If you wanted to actually fire the torch up you also need to actually put fuel in (gas or kerosene, and it's very important to know which one your torch takes), pressurize it, and critically, you need to preheat the nozzle assembly if you want it to work. Or I guess just put the shroud on a propane torch, but if you're going to do that for your firing shot then at least edit out the click of the electrical igniter.
The rust effect is pretty sketchy too, given how little damage the surfaces below it have, but there's circumstances that could cause that.

9/10 Please do not use that kind of tape on handles. This tape is used as a furnace door gasket and it is made out of fireproof fibers that should not get in contact with skin. Besides these tapes tend to dirt whatever they touch. :(
Thanks for the advice👍, but I varnished it with 3 coats. Safe for the skin. Where are you watching from?😉

I'm calling BS copper and brass do not corrode in orange rust. Thus was fake patina put on the item to show an "amazing" restoration ZERO stars
this is your opinion
It is surprising that some people think so) I would have had to spend 5 years on this) it is easier to buy a ready-made old rusty product at an auction of antiques.
Didn't you think about that?)
There is a section - antiques for restoration.
