Prior to Covid, I used to travel 4 times a year but I had to stop for a few years and then I have started to travel again in the summer of 2022. I have been to Dubai quite a few times but as a 2/3 days stopover (or Doha in Qatar) to get to SE Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam) or islands in the Indian Ocean (Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius, Zanzibar), and in the next 2 weeks I will be flying to Malaysia for the 7th time and Indonesia for the 4th time but using Qatar as a stopover. There are some places where Halal food is difficult to find such as the Philippines and Vietnam. Personally my favourite Muslim countries are Malaysia, Maldives and Indonesia but also loved Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Qatar and UAE. Brunei is an amazing small Muslim country which you can do in a day if you are going to do Borneo Malaysia as part of the trip
