  • Hey guys, this is just a fairly quick overview of my recently acquired Dell SK-8135 Multimedia Keyboard. It has been the backbone of many Dell business users and has been regarded as one of the best non-mechanical keyboards that money (very little of it) can buy.

    I salvaged this from the throw pile at the office. It was completely fine. Just needed a clean.

    Great video. Thank you. My husband just got one and I'm ready to find one for my own desktop. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving from Alaska.

    Just been given one of these along with a matching mouse but no palm rest which I am happy about! So far, so good to be honest, does what it is meant to!

    I love this keyboard, this is my favorite. And I want to find out how to make it mechanical

      Unfortunately, it's not possible. I too, looked at how to make membrane keyboards mechanical. Impossible without having to buy a custom plate and circuit board.

    This is so far my favorite keyboard too. After using this model for more than 4 years, I am considering to use the new KB522 model. Have you tried other Dell multimedia keyboards?

    My fave keyboard, just wish I had a newer one with USB 2 or 3 ports - some devices don't charge in the USB 1 ports. Big volume knob is the best.

    i love this keyboard. I had one since 2008, I think...That old one broke after more than decade, bought 3 used ones online, coz I really love using this keyboard and at least I have spares for the rest of my life...haha
    The USB hub is not that powerful. It would not read usb flash drives. I use them for my wireless mouse and it works great, no lag or whatnot.

    I've been squirreling these away every time I see them being discarded. My only complaint is that the volume control knob seems to be wonky (slow turns occasionally produce huge jumps), I suspect a firmware issue as all the ones I have seem to have this problem.

    this is the keyboard that my school system used after they upgraded from the beige XP computers in the late 2000's, and as soon as i got my own computer i made it a point to get the same one. Its excellent in every way. I tried a mechanical keyboard very briefly but i just prefer the feel of this keyboard, even though most membrane keyboards are trash. I especially like the two usb ports on the back and the volume control knob. The model that came after this one, which is easily discernible by the lack of the silver liner around the end, was definitely a downgrade. But, i think that the problem with your space bar where it rocks is just from use, as mine dosn't wobble anymore than the other keys, and feels solid no matter where i hit it. Id say it might be worth it to replace the space bar because nobody likes a wobbly space bar.

      @Jokypond 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      same, when i had the keyboard the spacebar key was unstabilized, when i cleaned it and put the space bar key back, it was stabilized

    I have this one but lack of backlight makes me looking for new one. Anyone recommends something?
    1. Backlight
    2. Volume control knob
    3. USB hub

      same feelings as you about the lack of backlight, I know this is two years old haha but did you find anything?

    • @justelynnnjoelle
      @justelynnnjoelle 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perixx PX-1100, it has backlighting and multimedia buttons (volume control knob). It also goes by "Saitek Eclipse II". Unfortunately, there is no USB hub on it.

    Space bar never bothered me. Even a $200 Corsair keyboard has a flimsy space bar.
