Agree but there are always some seats within some halt station for long route trains of over 1k km

I would suggest if it is really an emergency situation, book a general ticket and travel in general section. During an emergency your comfort can wait, this is what we did when we had to travel urgently for the demise of a family member.

And you'll have to change your seats constantly as passengers will be on your seat with each station.

1. TC will allot such seats to RAC / Offline WL passengers first for the time being.
2. TC will "adjust" those seats to some other passengers ;)
3. If all other people who have not booked confirm seat use this trick, then everyone will rush to claim such temporary vacant seats, which can lead to mess.

These is something called current booking, if you see vacant seat and try to go and sit there, someone may have already booked it through current booking quota…so in most cases this doesn’t wirk

What if multiple people end up choosing the same seat.
Don't try this hack if you never travelled with that train in past. I will tell you why.
Currently 12157 train runs daily and if you get vacant seat and you also took general ticket still TC will fine you 500Rs bcz that train don't have general ticket valid after COVID and now you are without ticket so he will fine you. If you don't want to pay then he will deboard you from train coming next station. So be careful before travelling.

Kuch bhi.. First thing first, you don't get such vacant births on Indian trains and secondly if TC catches you, you will be fined heavily. When you have General Class ticket, you are not supposed to enter reservation class bogie. Thirdly, people in India pay full fare and yet travel RAC sharing seat with someone else. That's the condition of our railway system and you want a seat on General Class ticket. Just amazing.

This hack doesn't work sirji, because the vacant seats are mostly allotted to waitlist passengers or RAC passengers on mail/express/superfast trains. This usually doesn't happen in rajdhani / duronto sometimes
Current availability gets available 3-4 hours before departure. 90% of the time for relatively short trips can be booked such way. i once booked and jumped 2 trains to go to pune in current availability.

First Directly find TC First and ask him to alot you seat pay him a money. And you are good to go... But remember that seat is only available to you until that TCs Shift going on. So ask him where your shift will end and only book seat to that station only... And meet next shift TC if you want to travel more and repeat same process.
I hv tried this thing about 4 time. It worked 1 time, Failed 3 times. Once i went around 3-4 buggies with this list and every one have confirmed tickets. So go with your own risk😢
