The gold in Dahlonega, GA is almost 100% pure... right out of the ground. They recently discovered that the gold of the Mayans (Mexico) came from Dahlonega. The local Indian languages in the southeast share almost half of their word base with Mayan. Apparently, the Mayan empire stretched all through what is now the southern US. There are seven tribal areas in Florida with the word Maya as part of their name. (Including Miami with a minor spelling change.) Small world.
Less than 1 percent of gold prospectors are attempting to make a living. 99.9% of gold prospectors like me do it as a recreational activity. There are thousands of gold diggers in Georgia and exactly zero of them do it for profit.
I think private property is a different story. There are too many laws and regulations to keep up with and they change from place to place. All you can do is do your best to try to follow the laws and keep your fingers crossed.
Anybody should be able to go here especially if the land was stolen... crazy to have to get permission to go in nature to get nature's element!!!@@goldiswhereyoufindit
Im definitely wanting to get into prospecting mainly for the fun of it and just being outside! However I’m curious where does one sell their gold once it adds up to at least an ounce or more?
Is there a way to contact you regarding a site specific area (and questions associated with it)? A little farther South of you, in central Georgia... Id like your thoughts on panning an area very close to the first gold mines in the United States.
And it's so beautiful. I'm so grateful to your nearby neighbor that gave me written permission to be there and experience it a few times. Gold in your backyard! A hobbyists dream! Thanks for watching.
Hey man, I’d like to meet up with you, and go check out a property I have near Dahlonega. According to my neighbor there are abandoned mines on the property; I think I found one. I am also on 1600 feet of Creek frontage, so if nothing else…we can at least cool off.
Was this private or public up there. I have been thinking of going up there to hit the creeks there. Would love to team up and learn a few tips from you. I found a couple of places that I have gone to and found so much garnets but no AU. Happy hunting and stay safe.
This particular location was private as are most places I go. In this hobby as a Georgian you've got to network, do research and knock on doors for good spots. Yeah I've been several places that have garnets but are not on the gold belt.
@@goldiswhereyoufindit, Just found your channel. We used to deer hunt that whole area in late 70’- early 80’s. We had Jeeps and other 4 Wheel Drives that we did Extreme Off Roading. At the top of that mountain and joining ridge, a large old smelter/ rock crusher still standing in 1982. I think it was part of the old Calhoun Gold Mine. That gold started Clemson Univ! Calhoun was Vice President to Andrew Johnson, I think. There is a Bronze Plack at start of dirt rd close to GA 400 and Hwy 60. Designated as an Historic Site. That property was purchased by a wealthy stock holder of Coke Cola in 1980 or 81? There is a property manager that unloads has 12 gauge if you go up that rd too far. A bit of History to go with your fine video. 69 years exploring these mountains! Historic Sayin: “Thars Gold in thm thar hills”.
I wish. This location is as private as it gets. I have permission from the owner to dig in their backyard, If any stranger comes around these parts the neighbors do enforce their property rights!
There is some good gold in there. I used to pan and sluice there (another location) a lot. You are going to have to change your name from "Rookie Gold Prospector". You are WAY past that now.
No - definitely a 10th of a gram. I'm just a hobbyist, so I'm not interested in a financial return on the gold. I just do it for fun, exercise and the excitement of finding real gold in nature.
It's much easier to pan the material at Crisson's than it is at the actual creek. The gold is much smaller and the black sand makes it more difficult. I'd recommend buying an expert bag of paydirt from someone like Klesh so you can get a feel of what it's like to separate flour from heavy black sand.
@@goldiswhereyoufindit i already do what you do, just less.often and don't record it. Own a bunch of equipment and stuff. I'm a part timer. But the gold at crisson is nice and easy to pan also. I like to get in nature and enjoy it as.much as prospecting. Anyways stay safe and maybe I'll run into y'all sometime.
Your shovel is at my campsite at Turner. The camp where we got the rock Crusher it's leaning against the tree right by the rock crusher.
YOU'RE THE MAN KENNY!!!
Had a great time out there with you that day, we had a epic day, gold in every pan!
likewise brother thanks for the killer spot.

Thank you Jeff and congratulations to your awesome turn out🎉
Dang! You guys did great! We are headed to Loud Mine in Cleveland tomorrow for their dredging challenge. Looking forward to it!
Have fun and get all the gold you can! - but the fun is the most important part.
1/10 of gram = $9.74
Tough way to make a living.

Great work fam. Keep it up. Gold Squad Out 🤠
😊" Gold squad" .. I like the way that sounds💯
That's some great color showing up in each pan! Nice spot!
Hmm been up there a few tomes thought the Chestatee was a designated trout stream.I will have to try it.

Yeah!! That's a great spot in the creek,I'd camp there for a few days and dig around

Is there any public access on that river?
Good job man, I look forward to seeing you snipe this. I bet you will do well on that bedrock.
I really hope so. The water is low right now so I better get on top of that before the winter rains.
That’s impressive gold, great spot 👍
Man I wish there was something closer to Nashville. That’s good though. I’ve always wanted to get into gold panning.
I'm pretty sure there is a decent amount of gold in TN. do some research on mindat.org there might be something closer than you think.
Looks like the river that runs behind my property

I’m digging it!

Could you please tell me
Where is the gold mine
this video is on private property so I can't say exactly where it is.
get the sniping gear out, loads of slow zones, that looks very promising, subbed.
Thanks for the sub. Yeah, sniping is in the near future. It's hard to find good places to snipe so I'm hoping for lots of good cracks!

Nice river access
Really enjoy your channel bud
yes chestatee is loaded but cant dredge there because of trout!
I know, because the fish would need to move five feet to the left or right for a few hours so that they don't get hit by gravel.
Maaannnn is this accessible to the public? Me and some homies would love to chop it up for a couple days there

lol still a rookie crevicer, sniper, dredger and highbanker haha. I'm clueless with anything other than a pan, shovel and stream sluice

👍
Should you a chair while panning in the creek thank you xoxox ❤ the videos
I would definitely use a chair as much as possible. Back muscles definitely get a workout.
