    Great video and info, i just did the same thing on my silverado 2020 1500 4x4 but the rough country one ( its the same ) but if you are a offroad guy dont put this kind of kit ( under the shock) wen the truck flex to the max the axel boot touches bolts and its going to torn your boot. If you dont offroad or jump your truck then your ok haha

You assembled it, ran it through the car wash, then ended the video without giving a decent side view of the truck?

    Man and nice video, think I’m going to end up getting the GM 2” lift kit front and rear since it’s the only one GM won’t void Powertrain warranty with. You should of showed a before and after shot at the end. I’d like to have seen the comparison stock vs level.

      I actually bought a new truck. I ended up buying a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500HD sle since it was the biggest I could go and had a good factory height to it. And it also cost less than a 1500 elevation model which is crazy. To many variables when looking to lift. If eventually like to get a 2” lift for this truck, but I don’t want a lift that levels it out since I actually carry 2200lbs in the bed of this truck and it sits level when loaded. Would hate to have a squating truck ass end low

    I read you have to disconnect the ESC (electronic steering control) plugs (3 plugs) and diconnect the battery before performing because when you hit the upper control arm knuckle it can send a shock to the ESC and ruin it. I also hear as long as you don't turn your hubs you could get away with skipping this step with no issue. Some brands instructions say this step and some don't. Confused!

    Great Video these work fine there's several companies that sell this same strut spacer there all very similar for $30 to $70 dollars you get a nice level Truck. I would also recommend the Billstein 5100 coil over strut you can get .5 up to 2.5 inch lift for around $250 to $289 depending where you buy them. Either way both work well

      I'm struggling to find any differences/changes from the 2023 to 2024 model years that would have any bearing on suspension. I ran into this when I did it on my 2020. No body was listing leveling kits for the current model year. Almost a year later, they began listing the kits with the same part number as the previous model year. Looking at full-on lift kits (2-6" lifts), the entire suspension package includes all the same hardware for 2019-2024. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on a lower spacer kit listed for a 2019-2023.

  • @eziocomparini7068

    Real quick, they say that leveling kits on the TB and AT4 stresses the front suspension? You seem to be pretty knowledgeable with this. What are your thoughts?

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any leveling kit changes front end geometry, but it's typically the tires that create the stress. With more lift comes bigger tires. The larger diameter creates more leverage. Ball joints and wheel bearings are the first to suffer. There isn't anything unique to the TB/AT4 that changes that. GM lifts the front end 1 to 1-1/2". The aftermarket kits I've seen specify TB/AT4 and add another 1".

      I think either lift would make the pickup look level. The two inch lift almost perfectly levels the truck (same ride height front & rear), but I doubt you'd be able to see much difference visually compared to a 1.5". The 1.5" might give you a little advantage in maintaining the level look when loaded (some weight on the box). If you're trying to add oversized tires, I'd go with the 2".
      If you'd like to see the latest on this pickup related to suspension and tires, check out these two videos. Thanks for watching!

      I don't imagine the shock mount is any different on the AT4. With Amazon, you could try it and return it if you don't like the outcome. The Amazon vehicle selector is limited. You could go directly to skyjacker and compare the part numbers to verify first.

    I wish i had seen this before I paid someone to put mine on because this Is best install video I have found and I have done a good bit of searching. I tried installing myself and gave up. I think the only thing stopping me from getting it done myself was the sway bar because none of the other videos said to take it off but I couldn't see how you could do it without taking it off. I tried unhook the sway bar but I didn't have air tools and the rod kept twisting as I tried to loosen the sway bar nut. is there a trick to getting that off? I ended up paying someone to install it but I hear a noise when I turn and I am thinking it maybe that I got the sway bar loose and the installer may have not messed with it.

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. The end of the sway bar stud should accept an allen/hex bit to hold it while you brake the nut free. I'd check to see if it's tight just to make sure it's not loose from your original attempt. If everything looks good, I'd have the installer check into the noise to make sure everything this tight.

    • @MasterJacks

    Why couldn't just jack the strut with a bottle jack, add the spacer then lower it back down? With the vehical on jack stands.

    • @MasterJacks

      Haven't tried it, but sounds possible if you could finagle a jack into position to compress the strut only. Let us know if you try it and it works.

    So the 2" leveling kit, only install on the front? Do you think is same type of install as the factory does on the 2020 AT4? Nice job on the video and explanation. Thanks

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A 2" front leveling kit perks up the front end to match the height of the rear suspension. The AT4/Trailboss come with a factory lift of about 1.5". Aftermarket kit manufacturers maker make a 1" lift specific to the AT4/Trailboss that adds another 1". The kit installs the same as the one shown in this video.

    Great video process,, does adding a leveling kit void any sort of manufacture warranty??

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my experience with dealers they don't blanket void the warranty. Many dealers install these aftermarket leveling kits and throw on custom wheels before they ever hit the lot. If an item came into question related to the install, you may not get a certain component warrantied, ie. you have a bad wheel bearing but have a leveling kit and oversized tires. They may not warranty that, but wouldn't cancel the whole vehicle warranty. I've found that dealers typically try to get items warrantied to keep customer satisfaction high. If it's a high dollar repair (blown engine), factory reps get involved and start looking more closely at your vehicle/history.

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's holding up good. No rubbing, no change in handling or mileage. Still has factory tires on it. Most wear comes from installing larger tires, more leverage on parts. Truck has 15k on it now. Kit was installed with less than 3k.

    Beautiful! Same for a Trailboss you think?

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya, it will be the same process. It's the same style lift seen in this video, but only 1" instead of 2" because the Trailboss and AT4 come with factory leveling (don't need perked up as much). I think most kit manufacturers specify Trailboss/AT4 in their product descriptions. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Will that leveling kit damage my front end suspension? I have the same truck and debating on installing it or not

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Adding a leveling kit doesn't hurt any suspension, steering, or drivetrain components. It changes geometry angles very slightly which is why the alignment is necessary to return those angles back to spec. Factory warranty is unchanged. If you prefer, your local dealership can install the kit for you. To sum up, it's a safe upgrade. Good question and thanks for watching.

    • @MasterJacks
      @MasterJacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ptown19929734 thanks for the follow-up. You bring up a good point. Adding the spacer does compress the front spring a bit which stiffens the ride.
