- It's Day 1 of our Walt Disney World vacation! We went to Disney's Hollywood Studios via the Skyliner from Pop Century, hit the rides and shows hard in the morning, took an afternoon break, and then went to Trattoria Al Forno at Disney's Boardwalk Resort for dinner, which is in the EPCOT area.
From there, we went back to Hollywood Studios for the evening until the park closed at 9 PM.

This was such a fun video! I’ve been skeptical about if I’d ever want to visit Disney World, but just one video into your trip I’m already seeing it might be worth it!! I’m excited to see the vlogs from the rest of your trip!
It’s definitely a more involved thing that requires way more planning than Disneyland, but we love both and think they’re different enough to recommend considering both.
I'm a WDW person and used these videos to prepare me for my first DL trip in April. Definitely two different vibes and genie plus is so much less stressful in DL.
The skyliner is a great ride. Oh I'm remembering my trip, and the rain, the humidity and our refillable mugs. So glad your family had a great day.

Giving a like because I remember how much my children preferred our brought in treats to many of the Disney treats. Not all but most of the times my little ones wanted treats that were brought in.
My son is like your kids. He would much rather snacks… including those exact fig bars than most food

Watching these with my wife. We have three boys and a trip to Disneyworld seems more achievable after watching your videos. We are likely 5+ years away from an attempt but love your videos nonetheless. Also...Disneyland will always be my park.
The metal straws is a great tip. Those paper straws are just a terrible idea in general, but even worse for things like slushies or shakes. We bought some collapsible Metal straws off Amazon that came with a clip on carrier and cleaning brush. VERY handy for being out and about with kiddos. Just need to add some of those silicone covers since that helps with really cold drinks.

Yup! My kids do breakfast really good before the parks but once we arrive they will only survive with snacks

I hate heights but love the ease of the skyliner as a mode of transport, so end up with my eyes closed most of the time praying it doesn't stop 😂 Can't wait to go back! Looks like you had a great time ❤

It was a rainy day, and I feel like that always clears out the parks in Florida. People have 7-10 day long vacations and will just come back another day.
My one and only time to WDW i staged at Aruba inside CBR. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning walk to the main house for our breakfast routine as we got ready for daily adventures and were pleasantly awarded that our stop at the end of the evening was outside our hotel building.
The resort grounds were so beautiful and vindicated the Caribbean feel. Also, a reminder this was before the addition of the skyliner for additional transportation other than just the busses.

Aloha; I am so enjoying your first day. Last time we were at Hollywood studios, about 10 years ago and it didn't have any of the rides you went on. As far as the food goes Disney needs to up their game. It shouldn't matter what park you are in. all the food should be great. Dear Aimee, I get very motion sick. (I get woozy on the outrigger canoe.) When I was a flight attendant I used the patches, but they were too strong. I prefer "Bonine" to Dramamine because it's 24hours as compared to 4 hours, it's non-drowsy and doesn't have the side effects.. Hope that helps. Perfect first day!
The patches Amy used were an essential oil type patch so non-drowsy, but probably not quite as effective as the stronger ones.
Keep the WDW videos c9ming! My husband and I want to go for our 5th anniversary, and we’ve never been before. We could use all the help and tips we can get!

I didn't want the day to end. I say your first day was pretty good. The cheese cake looked so good. I'm interested to see if Amy's patch really does work at Universal. I have tried all the other meds. Did the Sea band. It didn't work.
If I recall, her response was pretty similar to this. It helps with some things, and not with others. I’m sure she shared a more practical explanation on camera.

The skyliner is so cool. I love gondolas in general, maybe its just the nostalgia of growing up near the mountains and riding them so often but i think its so fun that you can use one as a viable means of transport in disneyworld

My dream is to go to disney world! Amy is like me, my least favorite ride are those drop towers. It's beyond uncomfortable! And everyone in my family loves it 😂 in all the pictures I'm like this 😦 while everyone else is 😃😄😁😆🤗

excited for the epcot video since my family is heading there for our vacay soon and i need to know if getting genie plus is worth it for the day
We got it the first day, not the second. But it wasn’t even really needed the first day either.
The only rides it’s useful on are Remy’s, Frozen, Test Track, and maybe Soarin.
If you rope drop one of the big three, then you’re buying Genie+ for just two rides.
It’s useful on other things if you do end up buying it. You’ll still use it. But those other things are by no means necessary.
You’ll see when it lands. Should be out on Monday.

What's your review on the neck fan would you recommend it?
I found it helpful. I’ll probably use it at Disneyland once it reaches the 90s here.
But Amy and the kids need a different kind, one where the fans are bendable to point at you. We’ve seen them. Even at Walmart. We will buy some once it gets hotter here.
If you don’t have broad shoulders for the type I have, the fan dips down too much and the air goes out instead of up.
She wore it a few times but ultimately said she didn’t notice very much for her.
I really liked it though.
Does the popcorn refill work in Disneyland and DCA too?
No, unfortunately. They sometimes have Magic Key refill offers from time to time, but it’s not an ongoing thing like it is at WDW.
Can you fill your refillable cups at the parks too?
No, unfortunately not.
I have yet to experience wdw w the skyliner! I sadly stayed in Caribbean beach in 2014 when it didnt exist yet💔

🤣 No. I didn’t get one every day. I think I got more Frozen Butterbeer at Universal than I did the whole 7 days at Disney.

My family visited all the theme parks at wdw 20 yrs ago in May, and the humid hot climate ruined our time there. Never again, wdw. Lol
Humidity is definitely a huge factor for the hotter months. The last couple of days were extremely hot.
Do you have a rope drop strategy for Disney World like you do for Disneyland?
You can see what we do in these videos each day. They are our personal strategies.
We chose to grab a LL for Slinky and rope drop Tower of Terror, then did Toy Story Mania while it was low wait, followed by breakfast.
The next video will be for Magic Kingdom, and we did something different this year versus last visit. Last time we went to Mine Train right away, but spent the first hour in line, even at rope drop.
So we said we wanted to not get stuck with one ride all AM, and went to Space Mountain instead.
But where we went was heavily dictated by lightning lanes.
Back when i was a Steam Locomotive Engineer on thhe WDWRR our first train out at opening Always beat the Rope Drop line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain!!!

Unfortunately WDW doesn’t do macarons except in France/Epcot…Disneyland does them perfect!
I feel like a macaron is as iconic to Disneyland as churros in terms of having a lot of them, and many different varieties, whereas they have them at WDW but they’re hard to find or aren’t very good (churros are kind of stale in comparison).
We're planning a trip in 2026, so I'm doing research now!
