I've thought that Peter isn't a good teacher because he doesn't know his own strength. But what is a good teacher if not one who inspires? I can do this. I want to do this. It shall be done. You hit "If It's Magic" so far out of the ballpark, Stevie's goosebumps were felt by all fortunate enough to hear SIP #28. Thank you, sir.
Thank you for this Peter. Your gift highlights the genius of Stevie’s music, you play beautifully and with so much respect. What a joy to hear these favourites of mine for over 50 years. They don’t date, they are still masterpieces.
Summer Soft has long been my favourite Stevie Wonder track, and I've always thought it would suit a Jazz Piano rendition because of it's modulations. Brilliant Peter. Thank you.

I'd swear there are two pianists playing at times😀. Such melodic fluidity, hand independence, rhythmic vibrancy, and genuine respect to the original material. Most instrumental covers of Stevie's music loses its vitality. This is an exception.
Just had to pause and say how exquisite the playing of ‘You and I’ was and with a sprinkle of Lately thrown in for good measure. I previously watched a video of yours dissecting Stevie’s tunes and you mentioned McCoy Tyner, thanks, his playing has an incredible amount of emotion. P E A C E : ) and back to this most enjoyable musical treat.
He did an Open Studio live on Feb 22 or so 2023 just featuring Don’t you worry bout a thing. I can’t wait for them to post a recording of it. He really unpacks a lot of layers surrounding that tune. I learned so much, and I’m a bass player. Wannabe piano player.
Silver lining of covid....so many of us get to hear PM instead of him being halfway around the world playing. You knocked it out again Brother! Making that ‘dorfer sing too.
Blimey, Peter! Cherie Amour was terrific, and I don't even like that song - I would have skipped past it if I'd known it was coming, as it's not Stevie's best (it's a bit boring, I feel) - but you transformed it, what a great energy, got me grinning!
You are a master and Stevie is a master, my fav since i was a child after hearing songs in the Key of Life. If you could take apart 'knocks me off my feet' next time, that would be awesome. thank you, Sir, you amaze me.
Well, I was listening to your breakdown of "Don't worry about a thing" on your fantastic Jazz Methods courses on OS and I thought to myself "man. I WISH this guy would come out with with an album something like 'Peter Martin Plays Stevie Wonder'" (see what I did there) and then purely by chance I happen upon this! This is the shiznit.
If Stevie Wonder didn't exist, then this is what an AI approximation of musical genius would look and sound like, giving mere mortals the exhausting challenge of trying to compose such impossibly brilliant songs with harmony and melody. The very fact that SW does exist and has composed these exemplars of composition makes him something akin to the God of music.
Hey man, thank you for sharing this.. can't explain how much joy your version of Superstition gave me! Your feel and sound is right up my street. Amazing stuff!!
You the man bruh,... I want to be a keyboardist now, because of your inspiration and the way you play. Stevie is a god,... but YOU my friend are one also. Can you just send me an invoice and a blueprint (path) to what I should practice? I'm retired and READY. #SALUTE
15:01 Stevie actually plays Abmaj7, not Ab7, on the ii. I- and a bunch of other people who've played this tune- have made the same mistake because as jazz musicians we're so used to hearing the secondary dominant.
This lacked a lot of shape or movement or song. Just running through the scales, arpeggios and quantised scale motions with a kind of musical ADHD doing too much.
I'm a fan of both: Stevie Wonder and Peter Martin
I've thought that Peter isn't a good teacher because he doesn't know his own strength. But what is a good teacher if not one who inspires? I can do this. I want to do this. It shall be done. This is absolute mastery over the instrument. It must feel amazing
I was thinking of the same thing boss🤯🤯🤯
That turnaround at 12:42 ... SO SICK!

Took the words right out a'my mouth! So true!
The rhythmic timing on Superstition is my favorite part.
My cherie amour. Spectacular! 'nuff said!
Genius Peter Martin thank you for performance here from Aalborg Denmark and God bless

Seriously amazing! I hope you do an entire album of piano versions of Stevie's work. I will never tire of hearing you play these timeless songs!
Brilliant pianist & brilliant musical educator - superb playing Pete, thoroughly enjoyed that!

U doin' the damn thing......Excellent playing !!!!!
Peter your playing has inspired me! Blessings!
Ma Cherie Amour. A song which reached the top 5 on the Billboard. The chorus prominently uses lydian. Pretty cool for a pop song.

We love you, Peter! Great playing as always! Greetings from Moscow!
Whis Love from Russia, dear Piter!!!❤ super!!!
💙💙 Beautiful Touch with Heart💙💙

Great 😊
Excellent, as always👏
Do you guys ever pull out that Rhodes? I would think Stevie songs would have been a good opportunity for it 🙂
19:34 that Lately quote tho. Soo good
That was truly beautiful, nice one man
Brilliant!
The way you play If It’s Magic reminds me of Norah Jones.
#Thanksforthis.
sublime

there is no Ab7 in this key- But what you mean is F#7 ...right
Bruv
Whatever works no mistakes
There are no wrong notes..
excellent!
Excellent 👌
This playing style is reminiscent of Dave Grusin, and that's a good thing
The song was from “Jungle Fever” soundtrack Great concert Peter!
And who heard the Lately quote in You and I? Was it a stevie geek musical trivia? Well, I did!! Hehe ☝️, cool as fk man. Cheers!
Super!!!
I would love to hear peter also do that with some beatles songs !!!
19:33 I see what you did there!
beautiful, what is the first song pls?
Imagine if Pat Metheny and Stevie Wonder collaborated. Wonder what that would sound like.

What's the name of the last song?
Living For The City.
@@janisdeitsch2985 thanks much. Once again a terrific concert by Peter!
