Wartales is such an epic game which I enjoyed playing a LOT in the past weeks. This is my first of many videos to get you guys started with your first adventures! *Here's my updated Wartales 1.0 ULTIMATE Beginner & Returning Players Guide to Everything You Need To Know:* th-cam.com/video/oc0GYeC5jR0/w-d-xo.html Make sure to join our Discord to stay in the loop with channel updates and connect with the community: tinyurl.com/04AMdiscord
2 pretty simple things that I missed when I first started playing. There are vendors in the stalls in the towns marketplace. not just the guy standing in the middle and the 2 beggars. They sell salt and wheat to level up cooking. Pistons and rope. If you have pistons and rope in your inventory you can right click on the piston when youre at the top of a cliff and it will drop a rope that can be used to go up and down the cliff saving you from walking all the way around every time
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, good fun. Along with Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2 for Nintendo DS. Final Fantasy Tactics/ Tactics war of the lions is also one of my favorites. Turn based grid map games are always a treat for me, like Disgaea as well. Though as of recent I'm wary of Disgaea games.
Notable that the current version has markedly different generation options. Volunteer is a mere 10% less wages and Lazy is twice as much (-20%) of a profession experience penalty. They may very well not be the best options anymore.
Ye. Are the Stupid trait vs Club-footed any good? Only reduce 5% exp, as I understand enemy scale with level in this game anyway, and club-footed only reduce movement by 1, which can be easily negated by leveling it up
As far as starting traits goes, I prefer Stocky, , and Glutton (as the negative). +1 food on your 4 starting mercs isn't a huge deal, and it's offset by the fact each merc will be able to carry 3 more weight (12 more off the bat). This is like getting a free saddlebag, at a point in the game where you are going to be hampered by your carry weight (early game). The rest of the positive traits don't scale as well (constitution for example) or you don't want to impact negatively (movement, willpower, and crit are your key stats---never take them as negatives). Also volunteer was broken before they nerfed it. But for the most part, you should never have any issues with gold income after the first month. Capturing prisoners and doing trade runs will give you all the gold you need.
I'm so glad I found this video, just by the intro I can tell we share a common ground for games and how hard it is to find one pearl in the ocean. I stumbled upon this gem yesterday and played for 5-6 hours straight ! That's right, I was glued to the screen. I barely completed some of the missions, almost didn't had enough to pay and keep my men happy, the sense of discovery, the gritty fights, accomplishment when I forged my first weapons and saw their impact on the battlefield, I could go on for hours. I placed the video in my watch later list and will definetly see the whole 30 minutes today when I have the time. I'm sure I'll learn a few things for my journey. Take care mate !
very informative, altough i would have liked some more information on some mechanics 2 examples for this: - you talked about fishing but didnt show how you can fish? do you have to go into camp menu near a lake and the its just there? - you leveled the archer and talked about the 3 specializations, where you gain a „point“ for certain actions (like ending your turn next to an ally) but never explained what this point does or why it is useful.. i only watched halfway so far, so there might be some more information coming
Taunt is very useful though. If your archer gets attacked or a character that needs to be saved taunt make them focus on said troop and weaken them. Then you can use the move protector to get a valor point while taking 70% less damage
Already has a couple of hundreds hours on this 'early access' builds and I can firmly and confidently say that this game has such a potential to maybe even be considered Game of the Year when it comes out officially. Big kudos to Shiro DEVs for actually playing similar games and taking what's the absolute best from them, representing some neat ideas and offering solutions to problematic parts where needed. It's already very well polished and prepared for the public and I really hope they'll manage to bang it all the way! I've played thousands of games in my 25-ish gamer career and this game, this game can be my favorite one of all times... We'll just have to wait and see. :)
I really like the game, except for a few things: no quest journal, and the random placement of your mercenaries when combat starts. Why are some of my mercs on the other side of the combat map when we entered combat together from the same side? Yes, I can move them all to one side, and I always do, but when you get more mercs, there is no enough room on one side for all of them, so then the few that are left on the other side are as good as dead.
Great video, lots of good help, only thing is I'm not seeing the exact same game played here, 12:05 in and a few things have been different. Patches / changes maybe? It's 7/19/2024 for Me as I write this.
A lot of the things in the game are much different now than when this video was made, so be aware of that. e.g. the Volunteer attribute doesn't reduce pay by HALF, only by 10% now.
Can You make all those guides again? LOL. Voulenteer now lowers wages only 10% (instead of 50%) and Lazy now gives twice penalty (20% not 10%) for profession xp. Is it still worth to take it like You did?
Literally just bought this game and have been watching this as my first save all my companions died of starvation. where the heck does it say 'hey guys, click on the fire to feed your troops' ? did i miss it or am I just supposed to know it ?
I usually go with a squad of max 6-7 (also as quick as possible) - 2 archers, 2 rangers/rogues, 2 tanks and something else. Usually a blacksmith, tinkerer, thief, alchemist, cook, constantly switch miner/fisher for early until I get lots of them, then switch to the archaeology thing. Some are just too important not to have 24/7 while others sare situational. Smaller squads also make combat less tedious (the bigger it is, the more enemies, turns, time waste etc). On hardest difficulty you will enjoy this the most imo
I like wartales but I prefer the combat system in wasteland 2 directors cut. You create a team of four as well and the character creation goes way more in depth and so does the combat. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes turn-based combat rpgs
this game is a survival cRPG, crafting gives superior weapons and armour early midgame to any drops or vendor bought. the crafted armor and weapons make the game easy on hardest difficulty, food buffs also add a lot of dps etc.. if you focus on movement stats to 18-20 on all characters ++movement. mobility will allow you to own the battlefield. when you start the game go to the mine to the right of the jail, get ore for crafting weapons and armor. the 20% crafting profession at the start of the game boosts your crafting a lot on your starting characters. i take 20% profession xp, chance of being attacked whilst resting, +1 movement, xp buff and stupid at character creation. farm the ghost wolves for ghost pelts very easy. ghost armor and weapons lvl 6 wear lvl 5 are uber. the dungeons give purple weapons as do the crown bosses on each map.
If you change the profession, you will indeed lose all progress. I recommend you to stick to a couple professions like Tinkering, Blacksmithing and Cooking as you'll need them almost all the time while it s possible to switch between Fisherman/Woodcutter/Miner/Scholar for example if you have a small group of mercenaries as these are occasional jobs
Its agreat game and i am enjoying it but there are things that require fixing such as adding switching characters equipment menu and confirm after choose to make easier selection
The game has no instruction on resting and I had to look for a video to find out that you must rightclick the campfire to initiate a rest period. This should be told ingame so you dont freak out. lol
