Culture shock from Tiltren is the best food. If you get it delicious (50%), you can go 4 days before rest. If you stack that with the 25% reduction from flag, you could go 6 days without rest. The more days you can go before rest also reduces your food & gold cost.
@@chrisc3797 That's where 1 captain & lieutenant comes in. Lieutenant buffs the captain, then captain gets 8 to 12 dp from 4-6 companions. Having the tent level 3 also gives 1 VP at the start of the battle, helpful to kick off the VP chain with the lieutenant.
@@HCallahanSBC Yes I was just about to post that this doesn't effect region locked games. I have a 40 member party largely comprised of animals and I am fighting 4 man parties in tiltren. Only thing I can see that it may effect is guard parties.
Raising boars i found is a good way to help with food consumption because the first perk essentially saves the food they eat and converts it into meat so when you execute it you have like 60xpork chops
Hey everyone, I am just adding one more tip about the game. There is a chance your automated save game will get stuck in place. I always do extra saves when I log off, which is why I was able to spot it. Anyway long stroy shrot if you save games has more hours or time than your autosave it isn't saving every town you stop at, so battles, travel, and time after that starts isn't saved unless manually saved. I fixed it by deleting my "autosave" and now it's fine. I lost maybe a day with progress before I noticed, so please learn from my mistake.
love the video in short, cleared some things up for me like the dynamic fight scaling. Something a player might expect but wouldn't know for sure until it was explained. ...Also the tip about upgrading skills and giving skills to party members, I knew about first aid but RUN, run is SUPER useful allowing you to basically avoid hits and re-engage without Guard-ignoring free hits from your enemies all the time. Thanks!
Wait, so wouldnt it just be smarter to have fewer units, since they eat less? Is there a limit? Like can I just show up with 1 character and it will always be a 1v1?
@@zengara11 You can try to solo, some encounters have a minimum number, so it is never 1v1, but you would face a very low number. On the other hand, you are missing out on most of the trade-skills, so that is not a great solution either.
Some items are impossible to get without thieving, but you very quickly get into strife with the guard that way. You get more and more guards chasing you, more often. You said thieving was over balanced, I find it almost useless. What am I doing wrong?
Thievery is highly imbalanced, because the fine that you need to pay is calculated based on the number of items that you steal and not their value. In other words - you can go to the brotherhood, steal all of their books, read them, go to the guards and pay 30gp instead of 3000gp original prices. You can do that even faster, once you understand the black markets and steal books, go to the BM and sell them there, get caught by the guards and pay of a very low fee. An hour worth of doing this will yield you 25.000-50.000gp, by far the fastest and most borring way of making money.
@@SykenPlays The game remembers every single item you steal and makes you pay for them (and give back any that are in your possession) even if you don't have them in your possession. I usually don't have enough money to pay the fines they charge, I don't want the fines increased because somebody worked out how to break the game. Also, I seem to end up with guards breaking into my camp even if I do evade them. I think the thieving penalties are too savage already. So far, having an experienced thief doesn't seem to help, except on one occasion the thief offered to reduce the suspicion level as a one-off camp thing.

I've been playing it on steam deck and it runs pretty good. My only issue lately has been pretty frequent crashes so I've been having to save more often
Thanks! Best tip was about the negotiating ability. I will get that straight away. One question: I am having problems knocking out enemies, is there a limit to how many prisoners you can take? I have 2x chains, but seems like sometimes I just can't capture enemies, even if: - health below 50% - engaged with an ally - approached from behind - and an available basic action. The option to knock out doesn't appear. Any idea?
Hi Tedpikel, there might be some more limitations for the capturing: - You cannot capture anyone above level 13 - Some enemies require to be much lower than 50% to even allow capturing - Some NPCs (merchants) cannot be caught at all
@@SykenPlays Thanks. I'm only going up agaisnt level 4 at most. And not tried any merchants. I have experimented a bit more and I now have 2x prisoners so it's not that. I think it *may* have been that I wasn't square behind the enemy, still not sure though. Is it possible that some enemies cannot be captured due to the mission requirements? i.e. does the mission require that you kill them?
You survive with only 6 mercenaries and 1 bear? Man, I must be doing something wrong cuz I've got 11 Mercenaries, a bear, an alpha wolf and 3 horses which one is a war horse You don't need to have one mercenary for each profession?
Yes, you do not need all of the trade skills, you can flex into them if needed (just need to time it well, so that you do not lose levels). The 6-person group worked incredibly well for me, you might want to check out my blind playthrough.
The Weapons need to be of a minimum quality (rare or above). So make sure that you are taking either legendary weapons and upgrade them to your level or try to forge weapons with three perfect forges.

Great tip, really like it.
the only problem i found with this tactic was not renewing valour points from rest. So its great for trade runs though, but bad for lots of fighting

You can choose the negative alcoholic trait for all your characters,
it will eventually go away if you just don’t give them alcohol!
That indeed is a good starter, specifically since the disadvantage goes away.

You named all the ppl by fighting style, then the animals like ppl. Love it
Hehe, that was for the guides, but it certainly is an easy way to keep track
Did not know that the party size effects the enemy party size. Thanks for all the tips
Yes, it is 1:1, animals have a scaling number depending on their size (rats 1:4, wolfs 1:2, Bears 1:1). Number is always rounded up.
Only in scaling mode. Region locked doesn't care about your party size (with a couple exceptions)
