If they could use the spouses income could you imagine that woman finding out that her husband had an affair that resulted in a child when she found out she had to help pay child support? Talk about traumatic.

Like how police and other emergency personal can hold someone for a psych hold.

Typically, people aren’t held until evaluated. They are simply court ordered to comply. Not saying in some cases, depending on the facts, it couldn’t happen but it’s not typical.
