If Citi gave referral bonuses, these content creators would be going nuts about them. I just got the Strata Premier & probably gonna get the whole quadfecta.
We are in Colonia, Uruguay, heading to Buenos Aires on Buquebús. Citi Strata Premier gives us 3X on groceries, restaurants, gas, car...CDW is primary overseas.
AND 3X on travel. I'm currently traveling coastal countries in Africa so I enjoy popping in at random hotel restaurants for dinner. Citi Strata and BILT are my most valuable cards on this trip.
Very refreshing view point! Thanks Jacob. Could you please do a video about Bank of America's credit card family, similar to this Citi video. Thank you!
Thanks for the idea and I’m glad you liked it! I’m less familiar with the Bank of America cards than other issuers since none of the cards appeal to me too much but I’ll research them more so I can make a good video in the future
Dude I'm rocking the trifecta with the new Strata Premier right now. They keep giving me targeted 6X Dining on my Double Cash. So far in 2024 I've had 8 weeks of that. Also 5% Custom Cash. And now I have the Strata.
@@esaicontreras8917 Custom Cash & Premier in the same summer. Unfortunately the travel portal was taken down. I cashed out my points. One year later I downgraded to the Double Cash, which has helped me earn a lot of points through targeted promotions. Then 2 years after my first Premier card, I was approved for the Strata Premier. So I'm holding the trifecta. I'm looking forward to see Citi's next travel card. There's only one thing I wish Citi would add: Aeroplan as a transfer partner.
Great video! For the citi rewards + card when talking about 10% points back when redeemed - do they have to be redeemed through citi travel or does it also count as redeemed if you transfer the points to a travel partner?
Thanks! It's hard to say because I don't have the card but here's what the terms state, "When you redeem your ThankYou Points, you’ll receive 10% points back for the first 100,000 ThankYou Points redeemed per calendar year. This means that if you redeem 10,000 ThankYou Points, you’ll receive 1,000 ThankYou Points from the 10% Points Back feature. You will not receive 10% Points Back on points you redeem on Points Sharing transactions."
I don’t have any Citi cards either because I’m just not interested in them 😅. Having Amex, Chase, and Capital One cards are already more than enough different issuers for me. I didn’t know that there weren’t referral bonuses though. That definitely sucks. Enjoy your Tokyo trip. Are you flying ANA in “the room”? 😃

Yeah that’s possible about the referral bonuses. I know for sure there’d be more videos about Citi if they had a high annual fee premium travel card

Sounds like a fun trip! Wish I stopped in Uruguay when I was in Buenos Aires. Strata Premier seems to be the best card Citi has

Great video Jacob! Im definitely looking to add Citi cards in my set up. Thanks for the info.
Thank you! I haven't added any yet but I'm getting closer to picking one up

Gotta have the referral bonuses!
At the very least I want bonus points for referring Jenny

6x on dining is really sweet! I think if you can commit to getting more than one Citi card that setup can be powerful
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit Oh! I now have Strata, Custom Cash, and Double Cash 😄😄😄
Which card did you start with at citi? Straight to the premier or double cash first?

Great video 🎉
Thanks Dugroz!
Hi Jacob. Thanks for making this video. It's very unique! Let me listen and let you know what I think
Hi Aidan, thanks for watching! I’m happy you liked the video idea

3 issuers are a lot to think about. We actually didn’t book our flight home yet so we might be flying The Room but who knows haha
No citi cards either. I can see myself grabbing some in the future though.
Some of the Citi cards seem completely fine but I'm not in a rush to get them
Don't get them, read my comment below.
I don’t have either Citi or Capital One credit cards. So, don’t feel too bad about it ~~😅
Haha I made an exception for Capital One because the Venture X is powerful
Thats ridiculous to have 27 credit cards, honestly. I have "only" 5 and my credit scores are around 800.
It's definitely not necessary to have this many cards but I like the travel points from the welcome offers that come with each new card
Choice Hotels is strong in Japan and Western Europe.
I’ll look into Choice for when I go back to Western Europe! Choice seems great for Japan
Choice hotels are gross though
I'm sure some of them are, but their higher end hotels should be pretty nice
Or you can have the Wells Fargo Choice Privileges Select card like I do! 😄😄
That’s true! I’ve thought about that card but it hasn’t had an elevated welcome offer in a while
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit I got the 90K 😄😎
The fact that you put Wells Fargo, a literal convicted criminal organization, above Citi, makes me discount everything you say.
I don't think Wells Fargo is above Citi. I don't have cards from either issuer
None of these banks are holy & pure, dawg.
@@flubberghosted2472 Only Wells Fargo regularly makes the news for their transgressions, dawg.
Citi + Chase 🏆
Sounds like a good combo! I want some of Citi's cards, but I feel like I have to get all my Chase cards first
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit I agree with you on that. 2 more months for me til I’m under 5/24. We got this.
1.5x speed, thank me later.
lol 1.5x is a good speed
