Credit cards can be a trap! People are drowning in credit card debt. If you can’t pay your credit card off each month you can’t afford to swipe that card! Just paying the minimum amount means your purchases will cost you more for your items. We use to write checks and if you bounced a check the bank called and charged so you better get to the bank and put in extra money because you were charged for every bounced check! We all watched the checkbook balance! Schools and parents need to educate the children about credit cards and the trap they can fall into if they only pay the minimum amount. 👩🏼💻

Hi Jacob Thank you so much for informative videos. Please help me to select two credit cards. One for everyday and the other one for travel I travel internationally 1-2x year. I prefer no annual membership fee I need everyday credit card. I spend majority on groceries, resturants and online shopping. I don't like to carry so many credit cards.. I want simple card I can use for everything. Please help me.😊
You've got the best videos on both the Aviator Red and the Hawaiian Airlines SUBs. I'm in my mid 50s and in the middle of rebuilding for the first time. I had 800s scores many times and for many years back in the day. In the last 6 years I've slowly rebuilt after just walking away after a divorce and being turned off by cards/banks. I am at 770s and banking with good old Chase. Have the Chase trifecta and the apple card. I am very interested in Citi and Barclays both before rebuilding with AmEx. Cleaned up the reports, spotless. Zero late payments last six years. Got denied for Aviator Red 3 weeks ago. Called them and got into the internal system. They approved me for the Red but w/ a small 2k line. I opted not to take it. Waiting to pull the Hawaiian 70k and AA Red 70k at the same time. I think I'll wait til Monday morning, pull the Aviator, then do the Hawaiian in the afternoon. I have Transunion on freeze. I think the denial had a Transunion report from the West coast from several years ago. Now that I'm updated internally with them and on the East Coast it should be good to go. I want these miles for Alaska/American to use for JAL long haul flights from BOS/JFK to Japan and SEAsia. Also good for domestic to LAX and Palm Beach. Wish me luck. Thanks again.
This is way better than the Reddit forum I just came from. I got the sign-up offer for 175,000 MR points so I'm sure I'll have to wait a bit for a retention offer. A lil nervous that AMEX UK is no longer partnered with KrisFlyer. Hope that doesn't happen to us.
For the marriot bonvoy boundless, does the 100,000 bonus points equal 1000$ you can cash out?
For the Mario bonvoy boundless, does 100,000 bonus points mean to can turn that into 1000$ in cash?
I just got approved for the Red Aviator card as well, but I had to transfer some credit from my Hawaiian Miles Barclays card to do so. I just got it for the SUB. Not sure if I will keep it in year two. I couldn't pass up the 70K American miles.
I figured out if I book United using Sapphire Reserve through the chase portal.... I usually get 10x points. Chase 5X which will be 7.5X to book in the future. United 5X just for being a member. Guaranteed to get 7.5X on The Chase. And you'll likely get 5.5 X on the United. That's 13X if you keep reinvesting in the same two. Easy value.
I just got this card. Do you have to pay for the checked bag then they credit you back?
I got the venture one On January 4, 2025and the no fee savor On November 28, 2024. I can’t stomach venture x. So I’m gonna go for the cheaper option for the time being and especially with my job situation being in between jobs. So I completed my version of the duo.
I just got approved too, but with 10x minus credit limite, only $1.500 😭
I currently have the Citi AAdvantage Executive card and I’m thinking about applying for the Aviator Red card in the next 6 months if it even still exists.
I don't think they'll approve for more than 4 ink cards
2x also counts for adding miles to your advantage account
Great vid. For the American Barclays card ik they are inquiry sensitive, you have to have over 5 inquiries on your credit report right? I want to take advantage of the one purchase points and wanted to know if they gave you any trouble with your hard inquiries.
I have opened many cards recently but Barclays checked my inquires from Transunion, which I believe had no inquires in the last two years because I usually received hard pulls on Experian. I had no issue being approved for both the AA card and Hawaiian card from Barclays and hopefully they won't give you any problems if your situation is similar
Traveling internationally with that many cards would stress me out 😂 Congrats on the new pick ups
Haha I need to leave some of them home next time but I’ve used almost all of them in this trip. I guess I could always use Apple Pay instead of carrying the physical cards
That is a lot of cards to carry in your wallet. Most of my cards sit at home 😂 Enjoy your trip in Indonesia. I just got back from Bali
I was thinking the same thing. It's more like a what's in my sock drawer video.
Haha I know I probably need to leave some at home but I always think I might use some of them once or twice lol
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit Apple Wallet or Samsung Wallet is your friend! You need a physical card for Walmart, Sams and Home Cheapo.
i thought the white design was better. i got approved for the same one purchase deal and will transfer to alaska. i will have to be conscious about putting a small charge here and there to keep barclays from closing acct. will close it after 1 year.
Sounds like a great plan! I might end up keeping the card beyond the first year but I guess that’ll depend on what Alaska decides to do with this card. I actually like the white design more now that I have it in my hand
Nice setup, CSP is a great card for travel spending
You’re right about that!
@ dining card too
What you got against Norwegian Cruise Line? 😂
It’s so specific and I’m not going on a cruise soon haha

Cómo puedo aplicar
I made a video on this topic. Search “Watch Me Apply: Barclays American Airlines Aviator” and my video will pop up
Hi Jacob, how are you? Thanks for your video. I got the same message your wife got on her application , mine is under review, what number would you recommend calling and how long would you wait to call ? much appreciated
Here's the link to check your application status www.barclaycardus.com/apply/cas/applications/search I'm not sure which number I called, but I found this one online (866) 408-4064. I would feel free to call as soon as possible because they should be able to help you out whenever you're ready
@ I did that, thanks a lot for your video, I got approved for both the aviator and Hawaiian with my wife, Aloha 2025! Thanks Jacob, great help
@Jacob US Bank lies to customers. I got my Altitude Connect Credit card in July of this year, and I had both offers on my account. I took a screenshot. One said 20,000 points in the first 90 days the second said 50,000 points in the first 120 days I satisfied both and US bank only gave me the 50,000 points and refuses to give me the additional 20,000 been fighting for months. Please let your viewers know that now they say I can only get one every five years, even though I have the screenshot with proof. I am about to write the office of the president and report US bank to the FTC
That's interesting. I haven't heard about that before. Did the offer say US Bank would give you both bonuses?
I have both United mile rewards and CSP points. Is it better to book on Chase portal for United flights or just go to United website to book flight? Also is it better to transfer Chase points to United reward miles? Also is saver award on United same as boost travel? Sorry I’m new to all of this as I don’t travel much and will later this year. Thx
I would look at both the United website and Chase portal to find the lowest points cost between the two. If you need more United miles because it's cheaper that way, you can always transfer Chase points over to United miles. Hope that helps!
do you have the 250k amex business plat link? the one you have up is for 150k
Unfortunately I don’t think I have one for 250k but I appreciate you wanting to use my link! I’ll keep looking and let you know if I find one
I literally have all these cards except USbank and Wells Fargo.
That’s awesome!
I get below 5/24 in February but Im really temped by the Hawaiian card.
It’s definitely a great bonus. It’s difficult without knowing your situation but I would personally wait to get under 5/24 since you’re so close
Hello my name is Andrew I got approved for a five hundred dollar limit that is a visa signature max cash preferred card that is 18.49 to 28.74 credit worthyness annual fee is 0 , due date 24 to 30 for each billing cycle. Is this a good credit card starting off knowing I am 23 years old . Please help me answer this question please and thank you
Yeah I'm not too familiar with that card, but I think it's a good start. Just make sure you're always paying off your card in full and on time every month and your credit score will increase over time
I'm a wedding to book and pay this year, should I aim for a long 0% APR card or a card where if you pay X$ you get X back in points or cash? Then also what card would that be? Thanks for your time
Yes that could one way to tackle the expensive wedding costs. A lot of the top cards for 0% APR are business cards like the Chase Ink Unlimited and Ink Cash, but if you want a personal card you can go with the Capital One Savor, Chase Freedom cards, or Wells Fargo Active Cash. Just a few examples to help you get started
Do we have any idea when they will stop taking applications for the Barclays American and Hawaiian cards? I'm interested in both but am worried that Barclays would deny me at this current time due to having 1 TransUnion inquiry in the last 3 months, and 3 TU inquiries in the last 12 months. That said, I don't want applications to be closed by the time I'm ready to apply (since we know both cards will be going away some time this year).
I wouldn't wait too long, but there's no way to know for sure when these cards will go away. If the 1 inquiry in the last 3 months will age out soon, then I think it would be ok to wait until then
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit Thank you for your reply! Your suggestion is exactly what I was considering doing. That being said, when exactly is it considered to be past the 3 month mark? My last TU inquiry was on 11/01/24, so would that age out on 2/02/25? Or is only the full month considered, meaning I'd have to wait until March? Also just to make sure, were you successful in only receiving 1 inquiry by applying for both cards on the same day? I've read mixed results online.
Thank you bud!
You’re welcome!
I'm with American Airlines. I don't have Hawaiian or Alaska Airlines account. Can Hawaiian Airlines miles transfer to American Airlines? I already have the barclay American Airlines. Great job on TH-cam ♥️
Hawaiian miles can currently transfer to Alaska miles for a limited time and Alaska miles can be used to book American Airlines flights if you choose to do it that way
Got an interesting history with Amex/Citi... - July 2024 - approved for both Bilt Mastercard and Barclays AA Red Aviator card - September 2024 - denied for Citi Strata Premier @ 2/6, 7/12, 7/24 - October 2024 - denied for Amex Gold 100k + $100 statement credit SUB - November 2024 - denied (again) for Amex Gold 100k + $100 statement credit SUB as offer was ending - December 2024 - approved for Amex Green (standard 40k SUB) - January 2024 - approved for Hilton Surpass on final day of 165k elevated SUB I do have at least $6,000 in travel-related spend coming up over the next 6 months (including hotel stays) so I can easily hit my 2 SUBs and max out the multipliers as well! I figured applying for the second AMEX card couldn't hurt either, as data points suggest Amex only does hard pulls on the first approval. I haven't gotten any automated emails from credit reporting/monitoring services about the Hilton Surpass approval, so I figure it was just a soft pull. This is great, as it will increase my odds of being approved for a Capital One/Citi/Wells Fargo card as my next application in 3-4 months! Finally, even though the Hilton Surpass doesn't have a FNC certificate (unlike my IHG Premier), I figure it's still a keeper card, as Hilton gift cards qualify for the $50 quarterly statement credits. $200 (minus $8 in shipping costs) > $150 annual fee in my book!
Thanks for sharing your recent history! I'm sure it wasn't fun to get denied for the Amex Gold, but it's nice to see you got approved for the Green card and now you're still eligible for a Gold SUB one day. I like the Hilton Surpass as long as you can you the Hilton points and gift cards you'll earn!
Got the Amex gold last year with 150k bonus and got those point and just got my platinum 2 days ago for 250k bonus
That's awesome! I want the Business Platinum at 250k, but I don't know if I have the appropriate spend to hit the bonus
Jacob, I just filled out the application for the Barclays Aviator Card using your link. I hit submit, and nothing happened. An icon just swirled around for a few seconds, and that was it. No responds!
That's so weird. I would try it again because the application probably never submitted. You could check the credit bureaus to see if you received a hard inquiry
Thank you for another great video! Also, the 200k biz Gold is still available ( I have a targeted referral)
That’s good to know the 200k offer is still around!
I'm trying to post a link for 200k Amex Biz Gold. But it's not showing up.

That's great info!
Jacob- thanks for the info between my Hilton aspire getting me $50 a month towards United travel bank, I think the next cards I’ll apply for in the next year or two will be within the UNITED ecosystem!!
That totally makes sense! I like earning United miles even though I don't live in a United hub
Jacob! I wanted to apply for the United Club Card for the 90k miles but I am way over 5/24. I product changed last night from the Mileage Plus to the Club card because I fly United all the time. I can’t wait to use the perks and IHG status that it comes with. Thank you for your great content as always! I appreciate you!
That’s awesome and congrats on the new card. I hope it’s great for you
I got the Red Aviator in December and the Alaska this month. I already have the Hawaiian card, but I may have my wife apply for her own once we meet the Alaska sign up bonus.
Yeah have her apply for it for more bonus points!
I woudnt apply for a chase card without asking at a branch what offers they have
It doesn’t hurt to check in branch if it’s convenient for you
First to get on these as always!
Thanks for stopping by!
Points can be misleading because they control the exchange rate to $, also avoid chase travel
Yeah cash back can be great for simplicity
You can always get an amazon gift card to reach your spending and still earn points
That's true! I know people who do that
This happened to me just recently. I opened 3 Ink cards last year, but they were all spaced out about 3 months apart. Would refer Inks back in forth with my P2, so we opened 6 Inks between the two of us (each spaced out ~3 months for each person). I applied for another Ink and was denied, then (maybe foolishly) applied and was denied for a Sapphire Preferred. What’s crazy is I’m 0/24 and we’ve banked with Chase since 2019. Unfortunately, my P2 is 2/24 and various online tools suggest cards from a different ecosystem for her. But not sure about the next move - maybe I we should just cool it for a while. Either way, it’s got me nervous for another Chase app and there are moments each year we have planned big spends that I’d really like to apply toward a SUB.
Yeah I think it would probably be best to take some time off from Chase cards. Probably a couple months or so. In the meantime, you could apply for many other great cards, especially with your 0/24 status
