At 54 I call any one younger than me a kid. Lol. I can not say enough great things about these 2 kids. Phenomenal human beings. Kudos to their parents for a job well done. Love this channel.
I love watching you farm videos, I was raised on a Ranch in Southeastern New Mexico and we also farmed alfalfa and sorghum and cotton. But that was in the 50s and 60s and early 70s, open cap Case 930 tractors and but in 1965 Massey Ferguson came out with a turbocharged six cylinder diesel 1130. When dealer delivered the tractor the service man who’s the operator and everybody pointed at me, HIM!? 😮 I wasn’t even eleven years old yet I could barely reaching the paddles. That big thing was intimidating sort of speak, “BUT” It had its adventures and advantages no one my age in school would be driving one of these tractors pulling an eight row planter planting cotton, and talk about it. Because we had the first 1130 in our area for two seasons.. I thing Laura, PLEASE USE RUBBER GLOVES AND SAFTY GLASSES WHEN CHANGING MOTOR OIL, FILTERS AND AIR FILTERS 🙏 Mikey
This is part of your passion bringing farmers and friends together to develop the information and tool's required to run profitable businesses thank you Laura farms and Scotty.
Laura I loved your determination to get the yard done. The most determined was picking up the huge piece of concrete!!! Wish you & Grant the best an all of the family!🚜🚜🚜
Just discovered your channel. My ancestors were farmers before Katherine the Great. Volga Deutsch immigrated to Nebraska briefly before settling in Washington State 1890s. I grew up on the farm with my first memories from the 1960s. I’m 67 now. With no TV we played in the kitchen listening to our parents and their neighbors talk about politics and farming. Technology and modern science have greatly benefited farming. History confirms nothing will alleviate the stress and enormous gamble of farming. I left the farm life after college, not without regret. Your channel serves a much greater purpose. Thank you! Pardon me, I'm binging now.
Laura, I like how you get on and do things, you decided you were going to do your lawn and went on and did it. That was a lot of oil for the tractor. What a man, Grant is, supervising his wife. Love from Mike. ❤
@@davidkettell5726 I think he meant it in that way, that Grant is very supportive and helps where he can, but also keeps back to let Laura do stuff she hasnt done very often on her own.
Granted, I’m a city boy, but I’ve lived in 18 homes in 11 cities so far (not counting 6 Navy years), and to hear you say you and Grant will live on your farm for the rest of your lives is an amazing commitment! I’m impressed with both of you. Keep it up.
Laura, me thinks with that much lawn you should plant part of it in corn. Pretty and covers the cost of the rest. Less mowing too. Fun watching you, Grant and Scottie.
Scotty "I'm a mouser. You welcome Mommy". Wow, that's quite a collection. I'm surprised that's all you found after all those years. Must have kept the farm clean.👍 Now that the soil is loosened up, A ruckus rake can fine tune it from there I think? God bless. Have fun. Thank you Brad👍👍👍

My lawn is not that big 😅 You need the big rigs and accessories for your lawn. I remember when your Mom was starting in on her lawn….and look how gorgeous it is now! Bet yours will be awesome also! Good job, Sweetie Pie ❤
Hi Laura. If you know someone that has or there is a place in town where you can rent a Ruckus Rake, that will make the land you tilled for your lawn look so good before sowing seed or laying sod. I do not think you will regret it at all. Have good days!
I agree.. I bet someone has one that rents out attachments for your skid steer. Just do a TH-cam search for Ruckus Rake and you will see why you need one.
Laura is a true treasure! To see here go after the equipment maintenance as she does is truly incredible! May the Good Lord allow you and Grant to work that land for as long as you are able and provide stability and safety for you and your family! Keep ip the good work, we are rooting for you!!! 🙏🙏❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey, air filters, quality grease and oils are THE BEST INVESTMENT YOU WILL MAKE FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT; YOU ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR MAINTENANCE. Great stuff y'all...
Laura, we are complete oppsites, so I have no idea why I'm watching your videos. You are young, I'm older. You are female, I'm male. You live in the USA, I'm European. You are a country girl, I am a city boy. I have zero knowledge of farming, and would normally have zero interest in it too. But somehow, some algorithm threw your videos up and I've watched a lot of them. Seeing a girl 'buck the trend' as it were and get into what seems like the outside a 'man's world' is awe inspiring ! Doing all that with such confidence, AND studying at the same time is amazing ! YOU are amazing ! @Grant: If Laura isn't a keeper then I don't know who is. She is awesome ! You're a lucky guy ! Keep up the good videos !
Hello Scottycat!!! I had 2 Mulberry trees on my 11 acre farmette that I lived on. Yes, they are very messy trees (broken limbs and birds eating the mulberries and crapping all over the place). One came crashing down in the middle of the night, with no apparent wind. It was pretty much rotten on the inside. I decided to cut the other tree down. Good decision. Both trees were about 4 feet in diameter. Both were rotten with about 3-4 inches left on the outside diameter. I love how Grant is eagerly cheering on Laura while she is shaking and turning red, trying to loosen the drain plug. Have a wonderful Resurrection Day!!!
Your husband is such a lucky guy! You’re an incredible woman and I think if I found one half as kind, genuine, and beautiful as you I’d be a lucky guy.
I hope you keep the plan t plant some trees out there. Our house is also located in the middle of some fields. The best thing my dad did was to plant about 200 trees around it as they moved in 50 years ago. Its a blessing I tell you. That freacking wind is gone for good. If you enter our property on a stromy day, its like visiting an oasis of calm and cosiness. Best thing ever. We planted a lot more since then and its also a paradiese for birds. All the best for you two.
Actually, the disc is also a harrow, a disc harrow, and the back is a spring toothed harrow, unlike the spike toothed harrows usually called rippers. Might I suggest planting clover and vetch as well as grass? They fix nitrogen and attract a lot of bees. So maybe not next to the house, but we have it and it works well.
Now is a great time to make the perfect farmer yard. Cement it all. Paint it green then you have the perfect yard. Or cover the whole thing with fake Grass. The Perfectly Natural Farmer Yard 😊😊😊
You two make such a great team. It's such a joy to watch your videos and see your latest project. Oh, Laura, you are truly beautiful without the add on eyelashes. Letting your natural beauty come through is a big plus. Can't wait for your next project...planting, I would guess.
Awesome project!.....I loved your intro! "We are gonna live the rest of our lives here!" I'm just an old fashioned "old man" looking for my 50th wedding anniversary (half way there) but I loved that intro. ATTITUDE, It is literally how you get there! I hope I get to see You and Grant celebrate 25 years or more if the Lord gives me the extra years to see it! Stay true to each other till your glass runs out of sand. P.S. And Grant is not going to mind you plowing up the yard at all! I bet money on it! :)
That is quite a yard. We are all farmers as you say. Had some squirrel corn get away last year and grew a 7-8 foot corn stalk. It was very cool, and reminded me of your videos every time I looked at it.
Getting the right tool for the job makes it all go easier. The tractor now will pay back all Laura's work in spades. It's a toss up who has the biggest smile as they go out into the fields.
Started watching watching your channel a few weeks ago because of watching a few other farming channels. Have family who farms in other states and in the state I live, Also a grandparent who farmed on moms side way before passing. Been wanting to start my own because of it and learning as much as possible from them and from others like both of you through videos. Keep up the wonderful work on the videos and the farm work.
