- Thailand recoiled in horror after at least 36 people were killed, at least 24 of them children, in a massacre at a child care center in northeastern Thailand believed to be the country’s deadliest incident of its kind.
Authorities immediately launched a manhunt for the suspected attacker, later identified by Thailand’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) as Panya Kamrab, a 34-year-old former policeman. According to Thai Royal Police, he was suspended from police duty earlier this year relation to drug possession charges.
Among the dozens of victims are Panya’s wife and stepson, whom investigators say he killed before taking his own life. #SelinaWang #CNN #News

He didn't just murder all these children and adults, he completely and utterly destroyed this entire community. They all knew each other, some of the bystanders had even been to school with them. And the absolute devasting toll on this community is just heartbreaking. They will never recover from this.

the people in these comments have no empathy/kindness, you said a caring message about the parents and babies. Whether you believe or not doesn't matter. But to just bash someone's beliefs, despite the murderer has a choice and free will is just insensitive. it's okay if you don't agree with their belief, but no need to take out your anger on this person who is just thinking of the parents and the pain they are going through.
God is present even in this tragedy, they mentioned that on a normal day it should have been 70 to 80 children attending this nursery,but because of heavy rain most of the them stayed home. It could have been way worse but the grace of God saved lives . My heart and prayers go to the family, may the Lord our God heal their heart and bring them peace.
I used to live near there, and this is horrifying. I felt safe. This would have never been a thought. My thoughts go out to that community. Especially the parents.

I was a teacher in Thailand for 8 years, came back to England in March. I worked in Isan originally before moving to Bangkok and my heart just hurts at the thought of someone so disgusting to do this to children. It made it even excessively horrid to hear about it because these children murdered would have been the same as the age of students I taught in Bangkok.

I always avoid letting my emotions interrupt my mind and keep my thoughts as neutral as possible. That crime did horrible crimes indeed, but having a calm mind protects you against fake news. This tragedy is a stark reminder of how vulnerable our lives are in the violent drug ridden world of today where even innocent young lives are no longer safe. I remember when the news rolled in about this happening and my high school class in the US were all whispering about it I think. Truly terrifying and shocking. I got home and my parents already knew about it.
