    Hi Luke
    Thinking of doing in 2024
Can you list the accommodation and how you booked it?
How far in advance can you book
    Cheers Neil

      Refuge de La Balme
      Robert Blanc
      Hotel Ottoz Meublé
      Hotel Lavachey
      Auberge des Glaciers
      Auberge du Mont Blanc
      Plan B
The hotels in the main towns are fine. The refuges are best booked in February/March time.

Thanks for all your info Luke, really helpful.
We are planing on doing similar to you in that we are carrying everything. However, do you think the hotel you spend night at the end of TMB ie in Chamonix would store a small bag, so you have some clothes to change into to fly home etc, especially if you stay the same place the night before you start?
      Cheers Neil

@@neilfarrimond8910 You’re welcome. It’s my understanding from reading the TMB Facebook Group that storing a bag at the majority of the hotels is fine. It’s best that you call the hotel to double check though.

    Hi Luke
Can I ask how you got from Geneva Airport to Chamonix? When and where do you book the transfer? Cheers

      Hi Neil
There are many bus companies that transfer. You can book at the airport at the bus counter or online www.omio.co.uk/ The problem booking is if your bus leaves on time and you are delayed at customs, you cannot use that ticket for the next bus. That happened to me once. I recommend just booking on arrival at the counter.

    Hi Luke
    Just a quick one.
What did you use for navigation?
Was it something on your phone?
You were referring to your watch as well. Did you have navigation on that too?
I have the Garmin Fenix 6 pro, but never used navigation on it.
If yours is the garmin, how did you install the route etc on your phone?
    Cheers mate

Hey Neil, I used a Garmin Fenix 5 in conjunction with Garmin Explore app. I had the route on my watch and cross referenced with the app now and then.
You can get the GPX files from my Strava. Link is in the description. You drag and drop the GPX files to Garmin Explore or Garmin Connect. I would advise checking on TH-cam on how to do it if you’ve not used that functionality before. Cheers

    Hi Luke
    Hope you are doing ok!
We are due to set off for TMB mid July 24.
We have booked via Macs Adventures, so all accommodation will be paid, so won’t need mega amounts of cash. However, where will we need cash and all euros or will we need much Swiss Francs?
So do you advise taking with us or use ATM? I use Barclay Visa Credit Card.
    Regards
    Neil

Hey Neil, thanks for the message. You’ll require cash for refreshments at some refuges, but most take contactless. You will pass through some major towns (Chamonix, Les Contamines, Courmayeur) with ATMs. Euros will be fine in Switzerland. I didn’t take Swiss Francs. I withdrew cash in Chamonix at the start of my trip.
Good luck with your prep and if you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on Instagram.
      Regards,
      Luke

    Hi Luke
Due to fly out to Geneva in a week to start TMB.
Do I need to take any CHF ?
I was planning on taking some euros and a credit card. Only in Switzerland for 3 days, staying in hotels. So will I really need any CHF?
