When Kefton finished his dance before his round ended to go hug rubix, got chills, felt like he is passing on the torch to him. I love Kefton, he's one of my favourite battle dancers, also smiling and humble but also an incredible dancer.

@@kenojaye He did something similar in Summer Dance finals, when he sees the opportunity to let the younger generation of dancers shine, he will humbly let them take the crown. I'm not saying that Kefton purposely dances worse or anything, he just knows that this new style of hip hop is booming in and he's getting older and he really loves to see guys like rubix making it big and paving a new way for hiphop dance to evolve into.
@@Johnoooh I even feel like he could have went harder during the last round but somehow "gave up" mid round, he either was really tired or gave the win to Rubix. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Rubix don't deserve his win, all his rounds were solids, but I feel like Kefton really gave up in the 3rd round
@@Flowbeast Yea I definitely could see that as well bro, I believe it was a combination of him being tired but also I feel like he was happy to give the win to Rubix, this is the kind of dancer I know Kefton to be, one of the humblest hip hop dancers. Yea he definitely could have pushed harder and that's why I say the passing the torch thing, it feels like that also in a way :)

I like this time Rubix is focusing more on musicality than his power moves....yes power moves can get you to the top but musicality plays a huge role....Larry has more musicality than power moves, that's why he wins most of the time

Pour moi Kefton au 3 passage il a clairement donné la victoire à Rubix , parce que soie il était archi fatigué ou soie il voulait que Rubix gagne mais je pense c’était parce que il était fatigué . Je croie qu’aux premières passages Kefton il a trop donné ducoup il avais plus pour le 2eme et le 3eme

Rubix is friends with the twins. Not sure if the judges are bias since they all interact with the dancers. Love Kefton’s battling spirit. He seems like a kind human. Rubix was better in this battle. Big congrats!!!

I think that last year it was the best battle bad in terms lighting, sound (this one just felt dead to be honest), I also think the camera placement was to high. This battle bad event this year felt a bit meh.
Personally I like the lighting. It's much brighter, but these shapes with score, if they will apear in the moment of judge's voting and disappear through the dancer's freestyle, will be better. About camera placement i'm agree

Was I the only one underwhelmed by Rubix's performance? Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of Rubix but in this years competition i feel like he was lacking continuous flow, waiting for beatkills and most of his showcase of technique was basically floorwork. Maybe i'm biased beacause of the very high level of last years performances, but i'm dissapointed either way.
It's because it's time for him to evolve, the same thing happened with the twins too. When you have a unique abstract style, it gets to a point where everyone seen your stuff so much it lacks punch.

THIS LAST ROUND BY RUBIX WILL BE WATCHED FOR YEARS: It's like he is about to complete his full transformation. First he learned from Paradox, now he beats Kefton...I think the training is done.

Solid rounds by Rubix, have rewatched a few times now, nothing to really fault him on without being a drama queen. Great job!

Damn Kefton basically gave Rubix the win in the 3rd. Rubix had a very beatable round, but Kefton had maybe 10 seconds of good material. First round was dope, thought it could've went either way but I edged Rubix slightly. Second round I was surprised Rubix won it clean sweep, but I thought it was close. Third was Rubix clear. Was really surprised Rubix didn't go crazy in the 3rd knowing it was 1-1 and the finals on a song from a legendary battle between his mentors. Neither of them really beatkilled the record scratch sound the way Laurent and Waydi did.
Both of them were very tired.
I doubt material would be a problem for Kefton so it was just combination of resolve and effort on Rubix part.

@@KiiroSagi Very true, not to mention Rubix's youthful exuberance and Kefton's fatigue from being older in age that would combine to help create this kind of result -- not to discredit Rubix's victory, since his youth is a double edged sword after all, but one explanation to Kefton's deflation near the end nonetheless. Rubix truly pulled through and got what he deserved!
Weird thing to say on this video, but I wish rubix had more continuous flow. Probably top 1 creative dancer with the most pockets and concepts atm, but can still lose, and flow seems one point. Good battle, though hoped for a more dramatic final
What he's doing when he stops and starts is quite a complex thing, he is isolating a specific layer in the song which has space in it and locks into that, it's incredibly difficult to do in the moment as improvised dance and the way rubix does it is on another level. His style is very much new school as well, old school style is more about that continuous flow.
@@Johnoooh Isn't that just more polished resets with extra steps? The reason I say this is because of the paradox battle(granted, I feel like it wasn't his best showing and he didn't try hard to win). When he faces anyone with more of that old school style flow(e.g. any s.o.w crew member), I feel like there is a high chance for him to lose by judging criteria
@@ridhaacupido474 That's one way to see it yea, as a musician I think my perspective is a bit different as I hear the spaces that are created in the different layers of the songs and then i see rubix actually give life to the space within those layers, if it was just random resets I would understand but he is doing it through locking in with specific layers of the song and more specifically the space in between the notes or beats and expressing that through stopping and starting. I totally understand where you're coming from tho my bro and I agree, an old school flow can kick new school ass, i think at the end of the day it comes down to how good you are at whatever style you are attempting to do and then you just have to hope the judges can be unbiased as possible.
Imo dj made it bad to reload the track, it seemed to break the kefton’s attitude growing for the 2nd verse
