I love the old rose fragrance the best!❤️ In a red rose, I’ve always liked Mister Lincoln. This long stem red rose has a very strong old rose fragrance in my climate (8b coastal Virginia). Many years ago, I had purchased a burgundy red rose bush which turned out to be a vigorous climber. I still have it and cut it back every year. The fragrance of this rose is a mild to strong cinnamon! Depending on the amount of sun it gets. I don’t remember the name of it but it taught me to catalog and mark the name of the rose on a stake.😊
I will always remember that great fragrance; when I was a teenager, my oldest brother had Mr. Lincoln in a pot, for photography and I was absolutely blown away when I smelled it!
Mister Lincoln has always been a favorite of mine, when it comes to fragrance. My grandfather introduced me to roses, and this variety was his favorite. Not only great fragrance but holds a great sentimental value. Cannot wait until your varieties get out on the market, they definitely will be added to my ever-growing collection 😀👍
Gorgeous!! Love's Light and Sweet Love are the prettiest ❤ I'm very excited for year two of Princesse Charlene de Monaco. I got mine from Northland Rosarium. It was around 4 feet at the end of the summer!
I have added princess Charlene de Monaco to my rose collection, three weeks ago as a small plant, here in England zone 8b. Have high hopes for good performance of PCDM, next year.
I like having a variety of fragrances in the rose garden, as switching back and forth seems to amplify each; but old rose fragrance is definitely my personal favorite, followed by fruity blended in either old rose or tea. What about you?
Old rose scent is my favorite but only slightly more. I like most rose fragrance " except myrrh " and all the combinations they make. Some roses can truely smell unique with a combination of scents and others have a theme for the entire family like Damask. Compassion has a very nice fragrance!🩷
