@@duanesroses Oh thanks a lot! Ill tell you now, a Keith Zerry rose that doesn't get black spot is shocking! Esp. with Golden Celebration as a father! Golden Zest is still as free from black spot as the day I planted it! No blooms yet, as it seems to be building up size. I think its the only 2024 rose that has not bloomed. So 2025 will be its year to bloom im sure. I'm not sure your wife likes to hear that your Love is Confused tho! hhhmmmmm, we shall see.

Strong, anise, apricot or peach, citrus, clove, myrrh, violets fragrance. 100 to 120 petals. Average diameter 4". @@Loverofprettythings It is one of the longer lasting blooms of my roses, maybe a week; provided it doesn’t get too scorched by sun. It opens slowly over a handful of days from bud until it is fully open. A wonderful transition through the process.

@@Loverofprettythings I have some cuttings under lights right now, to see how well it will root. If they root I will send several out to places to test in order to introduce through them. Any others that are rooted I will make available to purchase. (Trying to get some available, as I'm not sure how long it will take for testing and building up stock at those sources.) I will put your name on the list for this one and contact you if they are successful. So far there are a good number of Romantic Love and Love's Confusion. Also, a few of Love's Light and Sweet Love. Hopefully more to follow soon.

@@DanielEichar someone is testing Love’s Light in Carolina right now. So far this season it hasn’t gotten blackspot, even though other roses nearby have. Sweet Love is being tested in New York, along with Love’s Light, so I should know more about it soon also. Romantic Love is there as well. Hopefully soon I will know more about them. But in your area Love’s Light has done well so far.

@@DanielEichar I am rooting cuttings right now, so there will be some available right away. It is being tested to introduce through several sources: I will announce when they have it. If you follow on my instagram I will be updating regularly the process of these cuttings being prepared. I will try to be sure and put an update on TH-cam as well.

@@smedina146 Thank you! William Lobb is a Moss Rose (old rose). Northern Sun is in testing right now, and is looking great so far. I have cuttings rooting right now for Duane’s Delight. Hopefully they root well, as some will go for testing at places for introducing them. Any left over I will make available to those who have been waiting for them.

@@country_boy_zone6b thank you! Yes, it seems once they approach or pass -20 F there is a huge effect. Tess has done better for me most winters, just the one she died back far more than expected. But, then again, a lot of bushes died back more than expected. I think it was the really odd winter, abnormally mild most of the time, but with one really hard cold snap that lasted a bit longer than normal.

@@country_boy_zone6b We were both just standing in front of our rugosa/English hybrid this morning admiring it! It is in full bloom again, one of the fastest in the garden. Fully double, usually stays cupped, although can open to a shallow cup. Typical beautiful Rugosa fragrance. Anywhere from blush in cool temperatures to pure white in hot with bright sun. The whole reason I started breeding was a rose like that: have never done anything for her but put her in the ground. I was going to try layering some lowers branches. Perhaps I will try cuttings as well, but sometimes they are difficult. She has never suckered, even though on her own roots. Totally my personal opinion, but I think the most beautiful rugosa I have grown, or even seen.

@@duanesroses Foxi Pavement is a fantastic rugosa hybrid. It does LIGHTLY sucker but just enough to give to friends or plant at a cemetery. WONDERFUL fragrance, 4x4, i cant say enough about her! cupped then opens part way 'mine hade half day shade just fyi . The other Pavements are ok, but Foxi is a winner! I am going to look at High Country Roses and see if he has it.

@@smedina146 thank you! I have two plants that are nearly identical Duane’s Delight. The first is not as cold hardy: it has survived, but doesn’t manage to grow and fill out, as it dies back each winter. It needs a less harsh environment to grow in. The second is doing well. I will probably test it to see if cuttings root easily or not.

@@country_boy_zone6b thank you very much! The most cold hardy yellow I grew (not counting really cold like Harrison’s Yellow or even Rugelda) was Golden Celebration. The others died. There is a reason I’m working with Above and Beyond, and even trying Harrison’s Yellow.

@@country_boy_zone6b also, Ping Lim’s roses are supposed to be a bit hardier, so might be worth a try.

@@duanesroses I can't say enough about Yellow Submarine and Yellow Brick Road. Both tip hardy here! I know we are warmer but still i have have some die back on most roses. Not as much on Austins. Fun in the Sun is also tip hardy here and looks more like an English rose with yellow and pink petals on the same rose. Good scent too, the Ping roses have a light fragrance with Yellow Brick Road has a bit more fragrance but is slightly sensitive to bugs but Yellow Submarine is not. That rose is bullet proof i swear! Id be glad to send you some ripe hips so you could have some genetic material to work with....
