Your speaking style is mesmerizing!! Thank you for a great video on Schubert. As for other topics that might be worth addressing in a later video, how about this one: A whole cottage industry has grown up around this question: "Did Mozart compose the Sinfonia Concertante for four winds and orchestra or not?" The scholarly consensus seems to be No, he didn't. It was misattributed. So, the next obvious question to pursue would be this: "Then who WAS that genius who appeared on the scene just long enough to produce the Sinfonia Concertante then vanish into the night, never to be seen again? After all, at times he sounds even better than Mozart, doesn't sh/he? So who the hell was it?" But musicologists, being the wonky weirdos that they are, would never deign to pursue that question, even though it's the only one that matters. I can imagine you having a ball with it.
it is fun when musicologists fight and throw down at one another, Muxfeldt was one of my professors, musicology - awful field and awful people mostly haha. Great bookshelf behind you, music and books!
@@unpopularpersonofficial I moved on to accounting and went back to school for that. I enjoy music now and freelance on bassoon and piano/organ and just read the occasional musicology things here and there now. Great channel and discussion!
Thanks for this deep dive into the research. I love how you talk present the information, you remind me of my music history teacher!!
